2 Letter from The Director The third year of the Leadership Academy brought expanded realization of our tremendous talent pipeline, with enrollment eclipsing 200 and the number of graduates growing exponentially. This summary for 2016/2017 offers a glimpse of the past year numbers, activities, a few highlights, and a Save the Date for our kickoff Summit this fall (Oct 28 th, 2017). The Academy has quickly become a recognized force for the acceleration of leadership potential. Current members and new alumni are sought after for highlycompetitive internships and professional roles. Along with delivering on our objective to empower graduates with essential leadership skills, we are now being looked to by others interested in learning from us. An exciting example of this is a presentation on our program at the International Leadership Association s 2017 Global Conference this fall in Brussels, Belgium. We will not rest on our success, and are moving forward with several program enhancements to make the Academy even more accessible, scalable, and integrative to the student experience. 6 Highlights TALENT PIPELINE The third year of the Leadership Academy brought expanded realization of our leadership pipeline, with ten students from seven disciplines completing all requirements (5X from YR2). These individuals all have jobs or are furthering their education at graduate school. As they start the next chapter in their lives, they will continue to apply the EP 2 IC leadership skills they gained from our program. Some of the organizations these outstanding individuals will be impacting include: Amazon Colorado School of Mines Daimler Trucks North America HP Inpria Intel The U.S. Navy COMPANY VISITS We want to thank all of the amazing companies that invited us to tour their facilities and interact with engineering and business teams. These valuable experiences made a large impact on our members. Amazon Boeing Daimler ESCO McKinstry Microsoft PROGRAM GROWTH In just three years we have built, launched, and grown immensely. With over 200 current student members and 250 alumni/industry mentors now participating, the Leadership Academy is shaping OSU s engineering talent and bridging the gap between university experiences and industry applications!
