NSERC will support applications within the SDG9 (Infrastructure, Industrialization and Innovation) and SDG13 (Climate Action) call topics only. Given the nature of the GENDER-NET Plus Call, it is expected that proposals will include collaboration and integration across several disciplines. Proposals requesting funds from NSERC can include aspects of social sciences and humanities, provided that the main focus remains within the natural sciences and engineering. NOTE: It is the applicant s responsibility to ensure that the proposed project complies with NSERC s Subject Matter Eligibility guidelines. If more than one applicant from Canada is participating in the same proposal, they must work together and designate one single project leader. He or she will be accountable to NSERC for the management of funds and the research portion of the GENDER-NET Plus project. Mandatory attachments of a Czech applicant The application forms include mandatory attachments which, pursuant to Act No. 130/2002 Coll. on support for research and development from public funds must be documented and serve to prove the Czech applicant's capacity in the international challenge: - The structured CVs of the Principal Investigator and other members of the research team of the Czech applicant - A list of up to 5 of the most significant projects applicants have participated in in recent years. The project name and the length of the project is to be submitted in the form required by the Central Project Register. - A list of up to 5 of the most significant results applicants have achieved in recent years. For each result, specify how the result was used (e.g., license sale, use at work in your institution, use for education). - A Sworn statement of the applicant (available at: Completed sworn statement will be attached to the project proposal. - Financial statements for years 2014, 2015, and 2016 and also 2017 if available Eligibility of costs - The first possible start day of the project realization is the 1st January 2019 and the latest start day of the project realization is 1st March The costs are eligible from 1st January Supported results Applied research must be included in the project proposal. The call can only support projects that are reasonably expected to achieve at least one of the following types of (categorized according to the register of information on the results): G - technically realized results - prototype, functional sample; Z - pilot plant, proven technology; R - software; F - industrial and utility model; N - Certified methodologies, procedures and specialized maps with professional content; Hleg - results reflected in legislation and standards; Hneleg - results reflected in non-legislative directives and provisions binding within the competence of the respective body; Vsouhrn - Comprehensive Research Report O - Miscellaneous (ICT application, Game simulations and trainers, Computer game, Algorithm, Didactic aid & method, Perceptible properties of the product, Psychodiagnostic Method, Treatment 11

Documents to prove the eligibility of a Czech partner will be accepted via the TA CR data box (ID of TA CR data box : afth9xp) for the same deadline as the consortium application is submitted. The eligible personnel costs of the project are specified under the Section 17, Article 3 Terms & Conditions (version 4) available at: Subcontracting is allowed to special tasks which are related to the research activities defined in the project proposal. The eligible costs of the project are divided into specific categories defined under the Article 17 Terms & Conditions (version 4) available at: Investments and scholarships are not eligible costs in this joint call. Other specific regulations Budget data to be filled in the EPSS - section "Budget request": The Czech applicants fill in the total amount of the project cost related to the Czech partner (100%). The maximum permissible aid intensity per project is 85% of the total eligible costs. It means that 15 % of self-financing is requested. The applicants are to declare the division between self-financing and a requested aid contribution in the system. 13 Estonia, ETAg Funding Organisation: Estonian Research Council Contact and Commitment Provisional funding commitment (excluding EC contribution) Link to the national webpage of the call Funding Organisation Contact Point EUR Katrin Kello, Senior Adviser Eligibility Eligible Partners and/or Institutions The applicant of the grant, responsible for the use of the grant for specified purpose and for the productive realisation of the grant project (the Principal Investigator): - Must possess either the Estonian nationality or citizenship or be a permanent resident of Estonia. - Must have an updated profile in the Estonian Research Information System (ETIS). - Has as a rule entered into an employment relationship with the legal person (hereinafter Institution), which is the basis of the realisation of the grant project and through which the grant shall be allocated to the Principal Investigator. - Must be a holder of the doctoral degree of Estonia or an equivalent academic degree (both awarded by the deadline of submission of the grant application, at the latest). - Must have published within the last five years prior to the proposal s submission deadline at least three publications, which comply with the requirements of clauses 1.1 of the classification of publications of the ETIS, or at least five publications, which comply with the requirements of clauses 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 and 3.1 of the classification of publications of the ETIS; international patents are equalised with publications of clause 1.1.; the monographs are equalised to each author with three publications mentioned in clause 1.1 if the number of its authors is three or less. If the applicant has been on the parental leave or in the compulsory military service within these last five years, the deadline of the publication requirement shall be extended by the time stayed on the parental leave or compulsory military service. 14 participant of the project is a person who participates in the substantial performance of the project. The main participant of the project shall either possess at least the master s degree or the respective qualification and must have published at least one publication within the last three years prior to the proposal s submission deadline, which comply with the requirements of clauses 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 or 3.1 of the classification of publications of the ETIS; or be a doctoral candidate. Applied research is only funded as far as it does not refer to product development with commercial value and for marketing purposes. Remuneration may be only paid out of the grant to the Principal Investigator, main participants in the project and auxiliary staff according to the time they participate in the grant project and their total salary cost for Institution. Double funding of activities that already have contributions is not acceptable. Scholarship equal to the state grant may be paid out of the grant to doctoral candidates not paid any salary by the Institution. The scholarship paid from the grant budget for a doctoral candidate may not exceed 633 euros a month. The scholarship of the doctoral candidate along with the State education allowance may not exceed 833 euros a month. Should a doctoral candidate participate in several projects financed by ETAg, the total amount of the scholarship received from different projects may not exceed the aforementioned amount. It means that annual maximum of the scholarships per doctoral candidate, financed by ETAg, is 7596 euros. Subcontracting costs cover generally only additional or complementary tasks (e.g. costs for translation, analyses, etc.) to the third parties. Core project research tasks should not be subcontracted. Subcontracting costs may not exceed 10% of the total costs. Travel costs cover expenses for transport, accommodation and daily allowances (except in case of internal travel). Other direct costs are: Consumables related to the project; Costs for publishing and dissemination of project results (fair distribution of costs between partners should be followed); Costs for organising the 14

15 meetings/seminars/conferences (only in Estonia); Fees for participating in scientific forums and conferences; All other costs which are clearly required for the implementation of the project and respectively identifiable. Overhead costs of the institution must not exceed a maximum of 20% of eligible direct costs and should cover general expenses of the institution. Other specific regulations A budget of proposal shall consist of the research expenses and the overhead costs of the institution, through which the grant project is to be carried out. The research expenses consist of personnel costs (incl. scholarships), travel costs, other direct costs and subcontracting costs. The expenses on research are clearly required to carry out the project and respectively identifiable. Costs for equipment and services intended for public use (copying machine or printer publicly used, phone bills, copying service, etc. shall be covered from the overhead fee. Participants personal expenses or expenses not directly related to the project are not eligible. If a human research or animal tests are intended in the research project, the positive resolution of the Ethics Review Committee or Animal Testing Project Permits Committee with respect to the performance of the project addressed to the Council shall be submitted before the funding decision is made. 15

Eligible personnel costs are defined in the ANR Financial regulations document cf. For French public research organizations, this may for example include Post-docs, PhD students, research assistants, technical staff, etc. Subcontracting costs are allowed under the provisions of the ANR Financial regulations cf. Potentially eligible costs include direct costs such as equipment, travel and meeting costs, consumables, dissemination and knowledge transfer costs as well as overheads. Applications will also be accepted by members of the academic research staff at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS), Teagasc and the Discovery Programme. Researchers not formally affiliated with an institution recognised by IRC may be part of a Gender Net Plus consortium but cannot function as a project coordinator or a principal investigator. In order to expedite the eligibility check process, the Ministry of Health will grant an eligibility clearance to the applicants prior to the submission of the pre-proposals. To this end, it is mandatory that the applicants fill out and transmit a preeligibility check form trough IRCCS Scientific Directorate using WFR System before submitting their pre-proposals to the Joint Call Secretariat It is mandatory that the completed pre-eligibility check form is transmitted at least 10 working days before the pre-proposal submission deadline, giving communication via W.F.R with Project Code E.R. After the GENDER-NET Plus JTC 2017 peer review has been completed and the final (scientific) ranking list has been performed and endorsed by the Organisation Committee, the Ministry of Health will invite the principal investigators of the projects approved for funding to enter the formal national negotiations (according to national regulations). The funding of these projects are under the Ricerca Corrente IRCCS rules. 27 Institutional eligibility criteria: The eligible entities for the State Research Agency funding are: Non-profit research organizations according to the APCIN call or equivalent (Acciones de Programación Conjunta Internacional o equivalente). Spanish investigators are encouraged to include the Spanish industrial sector in the transnational consortia. Spanish Principal Investigators must be eligible according to the APCIN call or equivalent and must have experience as investigators in projects funded by the Plan Nacional I+D+i , the Plan Estatal I+D+i , ERC Grants, European Framework Programmes or other relevant international programmes. - Principal Investigators are not allowed to apply for funding in more than one proposal of this ERA- NET Cofund call. - Principal Investigators are not allowed to apply for funding in more than one proposal in two consecutive APCIN calls (or equivalent). This must be taken into account when participating in different ERA-Nets or other international initiatives. - Principal Investigators should remain unchanged between the proposal and the National APCIN call or equivalent. AEI-MINECO will avoid double funding (overlapping with other EU or National funding), and will not grant projects or parts of projects already funded.
