1 7 th ENAS-NEWSLETTER The ENAS Executive Committee met in March in Maribor/Slovenia to continue the development of our organization. Next meeting will be in July in Dublin/Ireland. If you have anything you want us to discuss, please send us your suggestions by mid of June. 1. ENAS Resolution The EC worked during its last meeting on a ENAS resolution. This paper should help and support ENAS members in their political work for a recognition of their local Academic sports service. The resolution should be signed by all ENAS members during next conference. Please send us your comments and remarks by 30 th June to pika.radmilovic@enas.sport.net, so that we can discuss them during our meeting in Dublin. (attached file ENAS resolution) 2. Sponsorship In the past we had some difficulties in our partnership with Technogym which hopefully are finally solved. The President contacted Andrea Campanelli, from Technogym International. As a result the European best price list and the ENAS member price reduction can now be found on our web page member news. The national distributors will be informed about the ENAS -Technogym agreement. If you already bought Technogym, send a copy of your invoice to Asbjoern Amundsen. This will help us to receive the correct amount of sponsorship from Technogym. If there are any problems left, please contact asbjorn.amundsen@enas-sport.net.

2 The President and Asbjoern Amundsen are contacting new sponsors for ENAS. If you wish us luck, we might present a new sponsor for our next conference. 3. ENAS membership fee 2005 Jos Clijsters, ENAS Treasures, will distribute the invoice for your membership fee 2005 very soon! If you need any extra certificate(s), please contact him directly at <treasurer@enas-sport.net> 4. Maribor conference The preparation for next ENAS conference in Maribor from started. The Future demand of University Sport will be the main topic. The ENAS President conference promotion letter is attached. A suggestion at last conference was to involve the ENAS member, by letting them held a presentation. If you think you could present one of the following subtopics: - Health care - Sport facilities management - Trend activities - ECTS - Mobility exchange which is referred to the main topic, please contact either pika.radmilovic@enas.sport.net, president@enas-sport.net or secretarygeneral@enas-sport.net by 10 th June Our colleagues from Maribor, especially Pika Radmilovic and the EC are working on an interesting conference and cultural program. Try to do your best to attend next conference and try to bring new people with you! (attached file President letter ENAS conference) 5. ENAS web page The ENAS web page should be a medium for us to communicate. Have a look at the secret part of the page from time to time. Do not forget to send us your suggestions to include (president@enas-sport.net).

3 6. New ENAS bank account Due to the official registration of ENAS in Basel, we needed a new bank account, to change the provisory ENAS bank account. If there are any questions remaining contact Jos Clijsters: treasurer@enas-sport.net 7. Member s Data Base To send you all important information concerning ENAS, we need your updated data. If you have any changes concerning your address, phone number etc. send it to Joao Roquette (secretary-general@enas-sport.net). 8. New members ENAS still needs new members. Please do not forget to promote ENAS in your country or at your partner universities, in order to find new members! 9. ENAS conference 2006 in Tallinn/Estonia The EC decided during last EC meeting that conference venue in 2006 will be Tallinn/Estonia. The local organiser will be Tallinn College of Engineering. 10. European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) As a result of the ENAS ECTS discussion, there is a detailed discussion about ECTS and university sports involvement in Germany. At next German university sport professional meeting in June, Gerro Dijksma, ENAS member from Groningen and the President are going to hold a presentation about ECTS, promoting ENAS at the same time. Did you already establish ECTS programs? If yes, please send a copy of your programs to the President (president@enas-sport.net) or to our EC member Pika Radmilovic <pika.radmilovic@enas-sport.net>.

4 11. ENAS mission statement The EC took the members suggestion to work on the ENAS mission statement again. The suggestion at next conference is the following: ENAS promotes and develops sport for all in Higher Education and encourages communication and mobility between Academic Sports Services. 12. UCS meeting in Hatfield/United Kingdom With the support of our ENAS member, Neil Mosley from Imperial College of London and through the invitation by UCS Chairman Zena Wooldridge the President was invited to UCS conference. On 22 nd March the President attended the annual meeting of our British colleagues in Hatfield and presented the idea of University sports without borders. As a first result University sport centre of Leeds and Kent already applied for membership. We are expecting several British colleagues in Maribor. 13. ENAS Vision The ENAS EC continued to work on a philosophy of ENAS, which explains the purpose, mission and guiding principles of ENAS. The discussion took place on the contents and some adjustments were made to wording in order to ensure accuracy and clarity of definitions. We would like to ask all ENAS members to tell us your consideration, giving us comments. The EC wants to have responses before next EC meeting in Dublin and try to finalise this document. Nordic Network Seminar From 29 th April to 6 th May the Nordic Network for University sports (NNU) arranged a successful education camp at Club La Santa (Lanzarote). 140 participants from 6 universities joined an education program throughout the week including the following topics: indoor cycling (spinning), aerobics, yoga, sports medicine and gym" and had a wonderful week on the canary island. Hopefully with the help of NNU ENAS could offer such a seminar for its members. Asbjoern Amundsen who is one of the organiser will report about this event during next conference.

5 15. General assembly (G. A.) The next general assembly will be held on 12 th November in Maribor/Slovenia. Please do not forget that there are elections to the EC and according to our constitution there are several deadlines. If you want to have topics on the agenda for the G. A. or to propose changes in the constitution you have to be aware of them. There is also a deadline for the nomination of candidates for the election for President, Treasurer and Secretary General.
