2 SEOCA Overall objective to further strengthen the cooperation between Europe and the countries of Central Asia within GEO by implementing a coherent set of activities aimed at building GEO- related capacity in the domain of Earth Observation in the target countries.

3 General Info The project composition is firmly based on the operational principles of CBC to contribute towards GEO CB Strategy - GEO Capacity Building Initiative in Central Asia - Duration 2 years -14 project partners - Represent all countries of Central Asia - Budget total 0,73 M Euro

9 Synergies between SEOCA and the GEONetCab projects Both projects implement Gaps and Needs analysis, in this case: exchange with regards to the methodology (maybe a workshop?) exchange of results, working materials and experiences on the basis - joint recommendations for future G&N studies? Other possible links between SEOCA and GEONetCab Cross-linkage of websites, cross-promotion in general Support to organization of and participation in the each others' events Close working communication between coordinating teams

10 Current status of SEOCA GA negotiations are finished, GA issued and signed by the Coordinator Accession Forms are being gathered by TUBerlin(all have been already sent) Plan to officially start the project on March 01, 2010 Although, the project dissemination is already started: SEOCA presentation at the GEO Capacity Building Committee Meeting (Melbourne, Australia 14-17, September, 2009) SEOCA poster presentation in Istanbul ( 8-9 October 2009 Turkey 3rd GEO European Projects Workshop)

11 Overview of the coordinator The department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the TU Berlin is the oldest space faculty in Germany. Active participation in research projects is an essential part of education at the department of astronautics.
