2 FACT SHEEET WHAT: SARC s Fall Conference is a professional development opportunity for nonprofit senior management and volunteer Board Directors. This year s sessions will explore a variety of topics related to nonprofit trends, leadership development, change management, and more. Through professional development, educational opportunities, resources, networking, and community partnerships, people who work in the nonprofit sector are able to better support their clients and staff, and lead their organization to success. At this year s conference, we will be celebrating SARC s 50th Anniversary! To celebrate this milestone, we are looking forward to bringing in a knowledgeable and engaging line up of speakers. To open the conference, we are delighted to have Bruce MacDonald, President and CEO of Imagine Canada, providing a present on key trends in the nonprofit sector and their implications for charities and nonprofits in Canada. Bruce will share how we can prepare for the next 50 years, and will invite leaders to interpret these trends for their own organizations and communities. We are also thrilled to have Joseph Macbeth, Executive Director for the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) to provide a closing keynote presentation on the emerging roles, and changing expectations of the DSP workforce and how organizations can prepare for the future. The NADSP s vision is a world with a highly qualified and professional direct support workforce that partners with, supports and empowers people experiencing disability to lead a life of their choosing. This presentation will invite leaders to reflect on the current climate in recruiting and retaining program staff, and the evolving role and expectations of Direct Support Professionals. In addition to the conference, the SARC Awards Banquet will be held on the evening of October 24 of twith additional 50th Anniversary celebrations. WHEN: SARC s Fall Conference is a two-day event that takes place on October 24 & 25, 2018 at the Regina Travelodge Hotel. The SARC Awards Banquet is on October 24, at 5:30 pm. THE AUDIENCE: Approximately 150 delegates will be in attendance at the conference. SARC s 90+ Members are located throughout Saskatchewan and will gather from across the province for the Fall Conference. This conference will feature professional development streams for both senior management and Board Directors of Community Based Organizations. The SARC Awards Banquet will have a diverse audience of people including conference delegates, clients and family members from SARC Member Agencies, sponsors, as well as government dignitaries.

3 FACT SHEEET SARC AWARDS: In celebration of SARC s 50th Anniversary, we are proud to introduce the SARC Awards program at this year s banquet. This awards program is designed to celebrate the unique accomplishments, journeys, skills, and contributions from across the province. These awards will celebrate community builders, inclusive employers and people that make the community a brighter place. Four SARC Awards will be presented to individuals for their unique stories and achievements in a variety of areas, including the Good Neighbour Award, the Spotlight Award, the Great Work Award, and the Journey Award. The Inclusive Advantage Award is presented to an inclusive employer that a SARC Member Agency has worked with, and the Community Builder Award is presented to an individual or organization that is a community partner with a SARC Member. As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to join us for our SARC Awards Banquet where we will reflect on the progress the disability services sector has made over the last 50 years by unveiling our commemorative art project and sharing a documentary video sharing the process and meaning behind the project.
