11 Mrs. June Smith Mrs. Barbara Haslett Mrs. Jeannette Milligan Mrs. Joan Platt Mrs. Julia Lanick Mrs. Carol Woodring Mrs. Betty Keibler Mrs. Jean Sergi Mr. Charles George Happy Birthday Wishes to all June 1st June 11th June 11th June 14th June 16th June 19th June 22nd June 26th June 27th Warm Welcome to: Mr. Gary Santmyer Apt Mike and Margie Stabile Apt 2416 Mrs. Lucille Morgan Apt 5314 THE BOOK CLUB Meeting June, 8th at 3:00 Social Room Before the Fall By: Noah Hawley On a foggy summer night, eleven people--ten privileged, one down-on-his-luck painter--depart Martha's Vineyard headed for New York. Sixteen minutes later, the unthinkable happens: the passengers disappear into the ocean. The only survivors are Scott Burroughs--the painter--and a four-year-old boy, who is now the last remaining member of a wealthy and powerful media mogul's family With chapters weaving between the aftermath of the tragedy and the backstories of the passengers and crew members--including a Wall Street titan and his wife, a Texan-born party boy just in from London, a young woman questioning her path in life, and a career pilot--the mystery surrounding the crash heightens. As the passengers' intrigues unravel, odd coincidences point to a conspiracy: Was it merely dumb chance that so many influential people perished? Or was something far more sinister at work? Events soon threaten to spiral out of control in an escalating storm of media outrage and accusations--all while the reader draws closer and closer to uncovering the truth. The fragile relationship between Scott and the young boy glows at the heart of this novel, raising questions of fate, human nature, and the inextricable ties that bind us together. Lobby Display Case Jean and Fran will be decorating the case on Wednesday, June 7th at 3:00 PM. We will be decorating the case with Beatles and early 60 s memorabilia. This theme is to coincide with Family Day which is Sunday, June 25th. If you can t be there on Wednesday with your items feel free to leave your items in the Security Office for us (make sure that you put your name on anything that you bring). Please contact Jean ( ) or Fran ( ) if you have any questions. 11

12 \ KNITTERS WANTED The Knitting Circle is in need of residents who knit or crochet. We are currently involved in a special project knitting baby hats for the poor children in Zimbabwe, Africa. Our shelves are overstocked with yarn of every color. All supplies are provided including patterns, knitting and crocheting needles and yarn. The Knitting Circle meets every Thursday in the Activity Center, Room 6269, at 10:30am. A Special Note from Mrs. Nora Murray. Dear Asbury Family, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your concerns for my grand-niece during this trying time. Jessica, 31 years old, was struck by a drunk driver while on her way to her car. From the beginning the doctors said her prognosis was grim. She was in a coma from March 4th till May 4th. Jessica was cremated in North Carolina, where she lived for eight years and brought back to Pittsburgh after the services in North Carolina. Her remains and the viewing took place in St. Thomas More Church with a Mass the following day. She was buried at the foot of her mothers grave (she died in June of this year). Thank you all again for your prayers. This was the 5th death in my family this year, and your prayers and concerns really helped me through this. Rest in peace Jes! Nora Murray
