Rest assured you will not find out what my favorite breakfast cereal is, as I shall be tweeting solely in my capacity as the HS Principal and thus instead will be reporting on all the great things that happen at ISM. I have come to realize that this is a great way to share the wonderful educational developments and ISM High School news that might otherwise be forgotten. If you are keen to know more about ISM High School events This is the new HS account that will attempt to keep you informed on school news. Another fantastic technological change at the High School this year has been the launch of Bamboo Online. This has been incredibly successful and I urge you to check out this exciting new age publication. Students have driven this change and have turned Bamboo Online into a dynamic and interactive publication that is able to react to events in a timely fashion, rather than to wait for publication deadlines. Their website is Last night I attended an amazing All Strings Concert (and tweeted about it!) and I am now late for the opening of the IB Higher 2 Art Exhibition. 3 FROM THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE Dear Parents, Please take a moment to review the re-enrollment procedure for your child to attend classes on August 7, STEP 1 - Please complete this step immediately. You are required to log-in to POWERSCHOOL beginning March 17th to complete STEP 1of the process. After May 22nd you will not have access to POWERSCHOOL and this may result in a delay for your child to attend classes on the first day of school for school year Please follow this link for the detailed step-by-step guide and required forms for students entering Grade 1, 6 and 9. To access the Parent Portal and PowerSchool, please download the PDF instructions here. The forms should be completed and submitted to the appropriate offices at any time prior to the start of school in the Fall. We encourage you do start this process NOW to avoid long lines. For information regarding your POWERSCHOOL access information please contact the school in which your child is currently enrolled. For information regarding our Health Clinic Clearance procedures, please contact the Clinic at clinic@ismanila.org. For information regarding billing or tuition and fees, please contact our Treasury department at villar@ismanila.org (for billing) and esguerrae@ismanila.org or felipen@ismanila.org (for tuition and fees). May we request that if you are NOT RETURNING that you send the Admissions Office your official WITHDRAWAL NOTIFICATION FORM immediately as this will help us to clear student account(s) in a timely manner. We request one form per child. Please note: Parents who fail to notify the school by Friday, 9th May that their children are leaving ISM will forfeit US$1,000 from each Facilities Upgrade Deposit. 5 FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE: Dear 11th Grade Parents, Have you scheduled your Junior Meeting with your son or daughter's counselor? We're half way through this final semester of 11th grade and the 11/12 counselors are currently meeting with Juniors and their parents through April to begin planning for life after ISM. Whether attending university in the US, Canada, UK, Asia, etc. or planning for a gap year, counselors are here to help plan for this next milestone. If you have not scheduled your meeting, please contact the High School Counseling Center at hsguidance@ismanila.org or to arrange a time when your son or daughter can also be present. In advance of this meeting, please be sure to complete the Junior Parent Survey in Naviance: Family Connection. Here is a brief tutorial on how to access this survey. 8 FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE: The third and final Well-Being Series workshop will focus on the growing impact of mindfulness on student education and wellbeing. This series is open to all ISM parents and will be held Tuesday, April 1 in the Little Theatre beginning at 7:45am. 8

9 FROM THE ATAC OFFICE: 3rd season practice schedule for MS/HS students is posted on the schedules pages of the (ATAC blog) and on notice boards around school. Please note the 4th season schedule for team training and field use from April 21- June 3 will be posted prior to the break. Training sessions for our 1st season teams (volleyball/soccer) and for other groups will be on this schedule. 4th season training is open for current gr 8's through gr 11 students. Current Grade 8 s who will be freshman next year and are keen on trying out for 1st season sports in August should come along to these sessions to meet the coaches and show them your skills. Saturday Community Tennis runs through until the end of May. see the flyer on the blog for exact dates and details. This is open to ISM community members only, outside guests are not allowed. Contact Coach Czarina to book lessons with our ISM Tennis Academy coaches The next track meet at ISM is this coming Saturday March 29th and the final local meet for season will be April 5th at Brent. Meet results can be found here following the meets Softball games this weekend- Varsity girls take on Adamson University today after school and the JV girls travel to Brent for a double header Saturday morning. Each Monday I will post the weeks happenings and highlight blog and in the weekly Friday parent bulletins. GAME SCHEDULE PDF: (access to game schedule information) Information about all mid-week/weekend fixtures for ISM teams can be found via the ATAC blog. Please note the game schedule does change often due to involvement with many local schools so please check the page regularly to find out the latest information of where and when the Bearcats teams are playing. BEARCAT DEN: Check out the link for exciting news about a new Bearcat Den shop planned for next school year. The final Bearcat Den meeting/volunteers thank you lunch for the year is May 22nd. Final day of den sales is June 3. The new and improved Den shop will be open for business 5 days a week 7am-4pm starting August 7th The Bearcat Den is open for business, please drop by to check out the range of new Bearcat products (new hoodies, umbrellas, lanyards, stadium seats have all arrived) New families please take some time to peruse the ATAC blog as Have a great year at the Home of the Bearcats! this will help orientate you with the wide variety of co-curricular programs ISM offers.
