4 4 GRANT ACTIVITY International Marketing Strategies as it Relates to Attendance at a Davis Cup Competition in Portugal - awarded $20,000 to take a team of students (graduate and undergraduate) and professors to investigate the effect of sport marketing strategies utilized in the United States on attendance of a Davis Cup competition held in Lisbon, Portugal between the Portuguese National Tennis Team vs. Bosnia (Fall, 2010). The Effect of Visual Skills as it relates to Return of Service of Male Tennis Team Members of the Portuguese Davis Cup Team (CEDER) - awarded $2,196 to investigate the effect of visual skills (eye alignment, depth perception, visual tracking, etc.) as determined by the use of Vizual Edge in relation to return of service success of the male members of the Portuguese Davis Cup Team (Spring, 2010). Diabetes Education and Prevention Program co-authored a submitted grant with Dr. Robert Garcia & Heather Guerrero for $1,000,000 to Driscoll Children s Hospital to create a camp on the TAMUCC campus that would include physical activities, diabetes assessment and education for children 8-10 years of age. This was not funded. The Effect of Vizual Edge Performance Training (VEPT) on the Batting Performance of NCAA Division I Baseball Players (CEDER) - awarded $749 to continue investigation of the effect of VEPT on the visual skills (eye alignment, depth perception, visual tracking, etc.) and batting performance of college baseball players (Summer, 2008). National Youth Sports Program - Awarded $50,000 to organize and serve as the project administrator for a summer youth sports program at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Corpus, Christi, TX (June, 2007). Integration and Efficacy of Digital Audio File Technology for Education Enhancement (CEDER) - Awarded $1,215 to investigate the efficacy of incorporating digital audio file technology into online and traditional kinesiology courses (Fall, 2007). The Relationship Between Visual Skills and Batting Performance of Professional Baseball Players (CEDER) - Awarded $1,100 to investigate the relationship between various visual skills (eye alignment, depth perception, visual tracking, etc.), as measured by VizualEdge software, and batting performance of 40 professional baseball players participating in Instructional League with the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Club (Fall, 2006).

The Accuracy of the Just Jump Vertical Jump Mat as Compared to Traditional Methods of Measuring Vertical Jump (CEDER) Awarded $2,835 to co-investigate the efficacy of an electronic jump mat as compared to traditional gold-standard methods of vertical jump measurement. (Spring, 2006). National Youth Sports Program - Awarded $63,500 to organize and serve as the project administrator for a summer youth sports program at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Corpus, Christi, TX (June, 2005). The Anthropometric Profile and Performance Characteristics of Female Volleyball Players (CEDER) Awarded $3,100 to co-investigate the physiological characteristics of female volleyball players (Spring 2005-Fall 2005). National Youth Sports Program - Awarded $65,000 to organize and serve as the project administrator for a summer youth sports program at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Corpus, Christi, TX (May, 2004). Fall Girls Youth Sports Program through the National Youth Sports Program was awarded $10,000 to organize and serve as the project administrator for the Girls Youth Sports Program at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Corpus, Christi, TX (August, 2003). University Information Technology Council Funding Granted 2005, June - $11,997 awarded Smart Room Instructor Lectern, includes lectern, projector, drop down screen DVD/VCR combo and wiring used to make the biomechanics lab a complete teaching station and smart room. 2003, February - $11,895 awarded Ten Dell Desktop OptiPlex Computers. This was my original request to house the biomechanics lab with computers to run the various software programs (e.g. SPSS, video-analysis) in our labs.
