1 EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE REFERRAL LIST FIRST CALL FOR HELP What is the Central Texas Food Bank? Nearly one in six people and one in four children, in Central Texas are food insecure. The Central Texas Food Bank, opened in 1981, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that receives, stores and distributes food and grocery items through our programs and network of Agencies in 21 Central Texas counties. The Food Bank service area covers 19,064 square miles in Central Texas.
