It is the only statewide historical society now active in the Commonwealth. By its annual meetings held successively in different parts of the state, its publication of the quarterly journal, Pennsylvania History, and a series of pamphlets, Pennsylvania History Studies, and its cosponsorship of an annual research conference in Pennsylvania history and the Institute of Pennsylvania Life and Culture, the association endeavors to stimulate scholarly activity and arouse popular interest in the state's history. Pennsylvania History is published in January, April, July, and October, by the Pennsylvania Historical Association, 704 New Liberal Arts Building, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa The articles are listed in American Historical Review and The Journal of American History and are abstracted in America: History and Life. Articles in religious history are abstracted in Theological and Religious Index. The journal is printed by Payne Printery, Inc. Annual dues to the Pennsylvania Historical Association are $10.00 for individuals and $12.50 for institutions. The journal is sent to all members of the association.
