1 Newsletter December 2017 Dear Friends, I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. As I mentioned previously, I am a person who loves to keep my family traditions alive and the Christmas season is no different. As a child, my family would attend Christmas Eve mass and then journey to a close family friends' home for a get together which included a visit from Santa Claus. On Christmas morning we would wake up early and gather together to open gifts, listen to our Christmas albums and have dinner in the afternoon. Not much has changed to this date. This weekend, I was listening to some Christmas cd's and came across one recorded by Rosemary Clooney which included a song "C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S". As I listened to the words of this song it summarized the true meaning of what this season is all about. I would like to share this with you all now: "C - is for the Christ child born upon this day. H - for Herald Angels in the night. R - means our Redeemer. I - means Israel. S - is for the Star that shone so bright. T - is for Three Wise Men, they who traveled far. M - is for the Manger where he laid. A - is for All he stands for. S - means Shepherds came. And that's why there is a Christmas Day." As you all enjoy this season of hope, giving and compassion towards others, may you each reflect on your younger years and those traditions that mean the most to you and your families. On behalf of the Parents Association, may you all have a Blessed and Merry Christmas. God bless,
