CITY OF ESCANABA SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS 2018 Young Beginners Swim Classes will start on July 9,2018 SWIM LESSONS Young Beginners Swim Classes The young beginners swim classes will provide young children with a proper and healthy attitude toward water safety. Qualified and certified instructs will supervise all classes and will stress confidence, respect and overcoming fear of the water. Various water games will also be played. The classes will serve as preparation f regular swimming classes available at the Municipal Beach each summer. This class is f ages 3 6 years old. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 1:30 p.m. 1:30 2:00 p.m. Classes are held at the Webster Wading Pool. Fee is $30 per student and $15 each f additional student in same family. Classes will start on Monday, July 9th and run through Thursday, August 9th. Wading Pool Hours Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays. Rock the Dock July 6 8, 2018 August 3 5, 2018 at the Municipal Dock by Ludington Park Fourth of July Wednesday, July 4th Activities to take place at Ludington Park with firewks at dusk Learn to Swim Program The learn to swim program offers students an opptunity to swim properly and prepare them f waterfront emergencies. Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 11:50 a.m. Classes are held at the Escanaba Municipal Beach. This class is f ages 6 and up. Fee is $30 per student and $15 each f additional student in same family. Classes will start on Monday, July 9th and run through Friday, August 10th. Classes will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants. Concession Sticky Fingers will once again be located within Ludington Park this summer. Their menu consists of fountain drinks, spts drinks, bottled water, coffee, tea, ice cream cones, suckers, candy, root beer floats, cotton candy, popcn, chips, etc.
The Recreation Department offers the Jacki Sensen Aerobics Program. Classes are held in the gym at the Catherine Bonifas Civic Center. The class schedule will be a drop-in fee of $5 during the summer months. F me infmation call the Recreation Department at 786-4141. It is the policy of the City of Escanaba to make recreation programs available to the youth of the community, as a lack of family income will not be a barrier to participate.

Rules are modified to fit the needs of young players and the same opptunities are provided f both girls and boys. Every player is guaranteed equal playing time. No previous experience is required f any age group. There are no tryout and everyone who registers will play. Fee is $30 per student and $15 each additional student in same family. Classes will be held on Monday, June 18th through Wednesday, July 11th. Escanaba Little League T-Ball Escanaba s Little League goal is to provide a great environment f your child to play baseball softball. The coaches are dedicated to making the game safe, fun and instructional at all levels. The board is dedicated to providing the best experience possible f your child and the entire family. This is f area youth to have a fun summer with fellowship, exercise and the thrill of a little competition. Players who are the age of 4, 5 6 years old are eligible to be selected to a t-ball team. New players must provide their birth certificate. Fms are located at the Civic Center f distribution, however, they must be mailed directly to Escanaba Little League and not submitted to the Civic Center. Bayside Soccer Soccer sign up is now open until May 20th. The summer season begins on Monday, June 25th! Bayside Soccer is a recreational program focused on fun, skill building, sptsmanship and fun! (lots of fun!) No previous experience required, rules are modified f young players everyone plays. Programs available f boys and girls ages 8 15. No tryouts and no cuts. Cost is $70 with discounts available f volunteers and families. Summer rec season ages 16-19 is $40 all play. Co-ed High School Club team season is in the fall. Tryouts end of summer.
