Kwaj ESL students have something to talk about Story and photo by Bob Fore Limited English does not mean limited intelligence, but that they simply have not developed their language skills in a second language. Kwajalein schools have two English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers. Judy Ryan and Rob Murphy are shown preparing lesson plans that will be used in their ESL classes. Students with limited or no English benefit from this additional instruction in fundamental language skills, which help them understand the information being taught in all their classes.

From roads to silos, work continues on improvements... (From page 1) A paving crew recently sprayed asphalt along Heliotrope Street as work to repave the island s main roads continues at a furious pace. About 10,000 tons of asphalt which represents about a third of the entire project has already been laid. Completion is scheduled for June. (Photo by Bob Fore)
