The Nominating Committee met Feb. 20 and will also meet March 6 and March 20 to accept nominations for the following positions: Governor, Junior Governor, Prelate, Treasurer, and 3-yr. Trustee. If you re interested in running for any of these elected positions, please contact any current officer. Election of LOOM Officers is Tuesday, April 3 from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. All LOOM members in good standing are eligible to vote. A SPECIAL MEETING of the Loyal Order of Moose will be held Tuesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the deteriorating condition of the roof and replacement costs. From THE GOVERNOR The weather is starting to warm up and Spring is just around the corner! We have a few big projects that need to get done, from replacing the roof and the parking lot. Maintenance is never-ending. Each year the new officers set goals and continually make improvements to this Lodge. With your help and support, these goals can be accomplished. Please attend our meetings, ask questions, share your opinion s and ideas. Let s sit down, talk, and work together for the common good of this Lodge! Together, we can all succeed. Thanks to all the ladies who have held events, cooked lite meals and volunteered. We appreciate all your hard work Election time is upon us for a new Board of Officers. As my year as Senior Regent comes to a close, I once again thank all the WOTM & LOOM members who have helped the lodge throughout this past year. I truly appreciated it. The Board of Officers LEGION MINI-ENROLLMENT Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. The Sylvania Moose Legion will host a Legion Mini- Enrollment Conferral for Maumee Valley 30. Dress is casual and ladies are welcome to attend. Sponsors, please do your best to get your prospective member to this enrollment. The General Laws of the Order requires that one must attend a Conferral to receive any Higher Degree. If you ve missed a Conferral you are urged to attend. MEN S SPUYTEN DUYVAL GOLF LEAGUE The Men s Thursday Spuyten Duyval Golf League annual meeting is Saturday, March 17 at 1 p.m. at the Moose Lodge. The 2018 rules and policy will be distributed. The $40 league fees and $320 green fees will be due and collected at this meeting. Please contact your partner and make sure you both attend! A sign-up sheet for additional members and subs will be posted at lodge. League play starts April 19 at 4:30 p.m. Contact League Secretary Tom Jameson at 419-882-6067 or 419-297-9043 should you have any questions. WEDNESDAY WHITEFORD VALLEY MEN S GOLF LEAGUE The Wednesday Whiteford Valley Moose Golf League meeting is Sunday, April 8 at 3 p.m. at the Moose Lodge. Elections, new rules, and year-end will be discussed. Golf and cart fees of $400 will be collected at this time. Please make checks payable to Wednesday Moose Golf League. A sign-up sheet will be posted in the front foyer of the lodge. The league will consist of the first 12/2-man teams to sign up. League play starts Wednesday, April 25, 2018. THURSDAY WHITEFORD VALLEY MEN S GOLF LEAGUE The Thursday Whiteford Valley Golf League meeting is Sunday, April 8 at 2 p.m. in the Moose Lodge clubroom. Green fees, cart, and skins money of $465 will be collected at this meeting A sign-up sheet for singles and/or subs is posted in the front foyer of the lodge. League play starts April 26 at 4 p.m. If you have any questions please contact Cody Crawford at 419-344-6699. ATTENTION HORSESHOE PLAYERS It s time to begin a new season for Horseshoes. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the league needs to attend a meeting at the lodge on Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. We will also schedule days to clean the pits. We need as many people as possible to help out. The first half begins Wednesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. League dues for the first eight weeks is $45 (the second half will be paid at a later date). Continuing league members have first opportunity to participate, but you must contact Dave Sullivan (419-466-0487) or Marsha Warrington (419-704-7954) PRIOR TO APRIL 18. If you are new to the league, let us know or attend the meeting. Last year we had a full league of 48 players, so we don t know how many spots will be open. However, the best way to move up on the waiting list is through subbing. We usually need about 4 6 subs each week so you re likely to play a lot! TEXAS HOLD EM TOURNAMENTS 6 p.m. on Saturdays: March 24, April 14, May 12 $50 Early-bird purchase $55 entry at the door All moose members are welcome to play. The top two qualifiers from each of the 10 nights will play in the Sylvania finals in Sept. 2018. The top finisher will then be awarded airfare, hotel room, and one entry into the Moose International Hold Em Tournament.
