Our community is dedicated to making sure you feel at home. We have had several residents move in this month, and we would like to extend a warm welcome to those who are new to our community. The year is flying by, before you know it, spring will be just right around the corner. Happy February, everyone! This Year Is Flying by WOW, it s already February! This month we celebrate so much from honoring our nation s heroes, to celebrating love. Be sure to check our Activity Calendar for our discussion groups on part of our tribute to National Black History Month. Valentine s Day is coming, and it reminds us of the people we love the most: you, our residents! And we re not thinking about just hearts and flowers, either. We are committed to making your home here the best ever. Please don t hesitate to let us know if there s anything else we can do to make it that way!

2 Trivia Whiz Welc me New Residents We Welcome: Curtis and Doris Tyler Dorothy Cleveland Dorothy and Melissa Kade Henry Tailor Irving and Karen Williams Jacqueline McCollum Margaret Meloche Thessia Dunn People Join us on Friday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. during Happy Hour in the Dining Room for our monthly Meet and Greet & Birthday Bash. Life Styles As we see the signs of Februus grasp bring us cold snow and frigid winds, we have plenty to keep us warm. Burning hotter than the sun, eternal as hope, love is truly ageless, and we will celebrate it this month. Please join us during our Love Is Ageless dance. Please join us in remembering not just romantic love, but the love of our fellow man, as we celebrate African-American history month and the triumphs of the civil rights movement, as well as the contributions of Africans and African- Americans to world history. Let s keep warm by letting the love flow, both romantic and of humanity! Speaking of love and hearts, do not forget that this is National Heart Month! Happy February! Life Enrichment Director Jenna Shelby Maintenance Corner As the weather has finally decided to act like winter weather, let s give a big round of applause to our maintenance team for keeping our building warm in spite of the frigid temperatures outside! For those who have not already done so, please make sure to say hello to Jim, who has stepped into the chaos and gotten right down to work! Director s Corner Greetings, Residents! Now that winter has finally decided to take off its mask and reveal its frigid face, we can remain indoors and safe from its grasping claws. To keep us warm, we have a tribute to love, whether the love of friendship, family, or a partner, we will celebrate with our Love Is Ageless dance. February is also Black History Month, where we remember the struggles of African-Americans to achieve equal rights under the law. I know that we are having a new discussion group, African- American Studies, on African History in honor of Black History Month, and am hoping for a chance to attend, myself. I hope that you all stay nice and warm with all this winter air! Senior Executive Director Belinda Smith The Sultan of Swat Legendary baseball player Babe Ruth was born Feb. 6, 1895, in Baltimore, Md.
