Greetings from your Governor The Holiday season is now over, and I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a New Year. The New Year s Eve party was well attended, and I believe everyone enjoyed it. A special thanks to Lew Pinson and Donna Gandy for the many hours they spent preparing the great food! The Moose Legion Celebration in Tallahassee went very well. Based on the comments I got from our visiting Panhandle Lodge members and our members everyone had fun and enjoyed the festivities. So far this year you have done a great job signing up new members. For the first time in a long time we have had a slight increase in the total number of members. Keep up the great work, and sign up your relatives and friends. Let them know what a great Lodge we have and explain all the benefits of being a member. Remember, if you sign up two new members who are enrolled before May 1 st 2013, you will get one year of free dues, and the application fee is being waived by Moose International thru April 30, 2013. The Moose Legion Committee will hold a Valentine s Dinner and Dance on February 9 th. The band will be Third Time Around. The Moose Legion Committee is planning the rest of the program, and anyone willing to help would be appreciated. The event will be held in the Social Quarters, and we will have a great dinner. The cost of tickets will be $15 for a single and $25 for a couple. Plan to attend as I am sure it will be a great time. Now is a good time for members to be thinking about running for a seat on the Board of Officers for next year. Some of the members on the current Board have indicated they may not run again for their current position, so it would be a great time for other members to step forward and serve the Lodge. The election process will take place in February, March and April with the new Board taking over on May 1 st. Please consider running for an office. If you are willing to step up and run for an Office, sign a simple slip of paper available from Richard Williamson by February 19, 2013. On a sad note we had three long time members pass away in January. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the families and friends of Larry Barth, John Coriell and Sharon Stone-Skiff. We will miss them. Fraternally, Bob Greer, Governor

Now is the time to sign up new members their application fees are waived until April 30, 2013. AND if you sign up 2 new members who are ENROLLED before May 1, your next year s dues are PAID!

TALLAHASSEE MOOSE LODGE #1075 -MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE The next meeting of the Moose Legion Committee will be on February 4th at 6:30 PM. Please bring a covered dish. The next District Meeting will be on February 10 th at 11:00 AM central time at the Pensacola Moose Lodge. The Moose Legion Committee will sponsor a Valentines Dinner and Dance on February 9 th in the Social Quarters. Tickets are now on sale. We are well along on our plans for the event, but we could use some help. If you are willing to assist, see Bob Greer. Look elsewhere in this Newsletter for further details. The Moose Legion celebration last month went very well and enjoyed by the attendees. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success. Greetings From Your Administrator, January was another busy and exciting month for the LOOM. First of all, we hosted the Moose Legion Celebration at our Lodge the weekend of the 12 th. We had 74 Moose Legionnaires and their guests who registered and participated in the weekend activities. All in all it was a great success and a fun time for all who attended. Then on Saturday, January 19 th, the LOOM had a Chili Cook Off which turned out to be by far the best Chili Cook Off we have had in years. There were 18 members who entered their Chili and another 32 members who paid $5 to get a taste of any or all of the fine Chili that was entered. Due to the outstanding participation, we were able to award the First Place Winner, Linda Falmer, $100; the 2 nd Place Winner, Donna Gandy, $75; and the Third Place Winner, Mike Vickers, $50. A big high five goes out to Anna Hedley and Donna Gandy for doing an outstanding job of organizing and promoting this event. One regular event you may have seen on the calendar but have not participated in is Homemade Pizza Night the fourth Thursday each month. Darrell Deeders Mortier is our Master Pizza Chef and if you never had one of his made to order homemade pizzas, you have no idea what you are missing. He also makes a homemade side dish you can order called Garlic Knots. Believe me, these are something to die for. So come on out the 4 th Thursday and join your fellow members for the best pizza and garlic knots you have ever tasted. You will not be disappointed.
