NOTE: Only unit training managers/deployment managers may request class changes or cancellations. Orders and Funding All ACC funded students must bring a copy of their official orders and any/all modifications to the first day of class. Funding Authorization Please ensure you get authorization/approval for any expenses (airfare, rental car, lodging, etc.) from your unit resource advisor before you leave on your TDY to Hurlburt Field. Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) Deployments Units should pay for Air Operations Center Initial Qualification Training (AOCIQT) TDYs with OCO funds. Use the losing unit s fund cite with ESP code 7C. ACC does not fund OCO TDYs. See your Unit Deployment Manager for assistance. AOCIQT TDYs (HQ ACC Funded) Members that are completing a TDY and return from an AOC will be required to share a rental vehicle with any other member(s) from their home unit that are in the same course. This will be reflected on the Fund Cite Authorization Letter (FCAL) that you received. Once you receive your FCAL you can finalize your orders in DTS and uploaded the FCAL into DTS as a substantiating document. Page 5

6 Variations ARE NOT authorized on the FCAL. If you plan to travel in a manner that differs from what the FCAL states, such as drive instead of fly, you must contact 505 TRS Quota Management Office for approval PRIOR to your TDY. If units have questions regarding funding or the member has not yet received an FCAL, Training/Deployment Managers should send an to the following Org Box: 505 TRS Quota Management (505TRS.DOM.QuotaManagement@us.af.mil). AOCIQT PCS Enroute (Non-ACC MAJCOM) If you are completing the training enroute with your PCS, you will need to take a copy of the FCAL that you will receive from the 505 TRS Quota Management office to your home station (losing unit) FSS to have the training included on your PCS orders. If you receive your PCS orders prior to receiving the FCAL, you will need to take the FCAL to your home station FSS to have them amended to include the training. If you are PCS-ing from a non-acc MAJCOM to an AOC, you will need to send your PCS orders to 505 TRS Quota Management at: 505TRS.DOM.QuotaManagement@us.af.mil. Once you have a copy of your final TDY voucher at your gaining base, send a copy of that voucher to the 505 TRS Quota Management at: 505TRS.DOM.QuotaManagement@us.af.mil. Defense Travel System (DTS) To create orders, go to the DTS Website. All student orders will reflect Hurlburt Field, FL as their destination. At a minimum, official orders should provide for the following expenses: Transportation to/from Hurlburt Field, Rental Car or POV, Lodging, and Per Diem (see below). Government meals are NOT provided. Per Diem ACC funded Air Force students staying on base will receive proportional meals. Non-ACC funded Air Force students may receive proportional meals if authorized by their unit/approving official. Students staying off base will receive full per diem (with the below exceptions). The current Per Diem rate can be queried at Per Diem Exception: If a student is TDY to Hurlburt Field for more than 30 days and are lodged off-base (students who attend the AOCIQTICO course and students who attend the AOCIQTIAMD course in conjunction with another AOCIQT course), lodging reservations should be made on a weekly, monthly, or other long term basis, as a reduced flat rate (75%) for the duration of the TDY. If a student is unable to arrange suitable commercial lodging (e.g., safe, secure, clean and within a reasonable proximity to Hurlburt Field) on their own, the Commercial Travel Office (CTO) must be contacted for assistance or follow Service/Agency procedures for making lodging arrangements (afterhours CTO contacts: If the CTO is unable to arrange suitable lodging at the reduced per diem rate, then the member must contact their AO or if your ACC funded then you must contact the 505 TRS Authorizing Official (AO) prior to making reservations and get authorization for actual lodging, NOT TO EXCEED the locality per diem rate, but the Meals and Incidental Expenses (M&IE) is still paid at the 75% rate. Please refer to Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) par. 4130, 4155, and 4250 for more information, Page 6

7 Cancellation/Change of Orders If your orders are cancelled or changed, immediately notify quota management at DSN /7237 or Security There is no requirement to contact the 505th TRS Security Office regarding student clearances. Do not have your Security Manager send Visitor Access Requests (VARs). The 505th TRS Security Office will verify clearances and contact individuals Security Managers if there are any issues. They will issue student badges granting access to the building. At the end of the course, students must return their issued badge. Lost badges are security incidents and reportable to the 505th TRS and home/gaining unit commander. Losing/Home Unit Security Manager Must ensure student clearances are current. Must ensure students have the correct accesses in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS). International Students Only Please confirm your attendance and provide your contact information and itinerary to at least seven business days before arrival. Packing List Uniforms All military and civilian personnel will adhere to proper dress and appearance in accordance with their respective service instructions/manuals. Below are the authorized uniforms when attending AOC FTU courses. Army: ACU, OEF ACU, OCP ACU, or A2CU/ABDU (for Aviation MOS students) Air Force: ABU, OCPs or Flight Suit Marine Corps: Woodland MARPAT MCCU, Flight Suit Navy: NWU, Flight Suit, or Khakis International Students: Standard Issue Daily Uniform Civilians: Business Casual Attire Clothing Other than duty uniforms, pack civilian clothes appropriate for the season. The winters are cool and mild, while the summers are hot and rainy. Heavy showers can occur without warning. Hurricanes/tropical storms may impact the summer and fall courses but can occur at any time. Recommendation: Use or similar sites to monitor the forecast prior to arriving. Drink Containers Please see the Food and Drink Policy Letter. While local businesses as well as the C2 Warrior Booster Club sell appropriate auto-seal, spill-proof containers for soft drinks and coffee, students may wish to bring their own from home. Allowable auto-seal containers are bite-to-drink Page 7

8 containers such as the Camelbak Eddy bottles and push-to-drink containers such as the Contigo Auto-Seal mugs. Study Materials Lessons and Study Guides Course lessons, student guides, and other reading materials will be available online no later than (NLT) seven days prior to the course start date. Those with AFNET accounts can click here to access the course material. Those without AFNET access (USN, USMC, USA, AFCENT account holders, International, etc.) must contact the 505 th Web Master at to obtain the material in advance via an alternate method. Hardcopies of student guides will NOT be provided during the course. (Exception: AOCIQTAMD and AOCIQTNET will provide student guide books for their courses). While the school provides a note taker document with Samples of Behavior that enables students to follow along during lessons and focus their notes for exam preparation purposes, some students prefer to follow along on student guide hardcopies. As electronic devices will not be allowed to transit into the Open Storage Area (OSA), where the majority of course lessons will be presented, students may desire to print their student guides prior to arrival. If a student would like hardcopies of the student guides, the student will have to pay to have them printed. In addition, students should provide their own paper/notepads for unclassified note taking as well as 3" x 5" index cards that can be used as flash cards to assist in exam preparation. Alternately, there are multiple online study programs that students may use to create electronic flash cards and study aids such as for example. Laptops and Tablets Those students who cannot access the student guides/reading materials prior to arrival should bring their own devices such as laptops and tablets on the first day of class to download it via a 505th TRS provided, government-scanned CD (USB DVD/CD Reader is available for those devices without one). Students may also use these devices to take notes during class outside of the OSA in Classroom 1 and the student break room. Electronic devices will not be allowed to transit into the OSA. Specifications: Laptop or tablet (gov or personal) with USB port or CD/DVD reader capability and Adobe Reader. Enhancements: Foxit Reader or Adobe Reader X can provide the ability to highlight, note, and insert comments. If you cannot obtain an appropriate electronic device for school use (in transient status, international student, etc.), please notify us with your name and class date: 505trs.adl.wm@hurlburt.af.mil. The TRS has limited laptops for student use with no Wi-Fi capabilities. Travel Students can choose between two destination airports (see below). Plan your travel outside the listed class dates to ensure you are available for the entire course of instruction. For students that are travelling from outside CONUS, we recommend you try to arrive up to 48 hours prior to your report date to allow for an easier time transition. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) Information For more information about VPS, click the following link: Fly VPS. The Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is located northeast of Hurlburt Field, approximately 20 minutes away. For directions to Hurlburt Field, use Google map (VPS to Hurlburt Field FL). Page 8

9 For taxi or shuttle information, please visit: VPS Ground Transportation Services Pensacola International Airport (PNS) Information For more information about PNS, click the following link: Fly Pensacola. The Pensacola International Airport is located approximately 50 minutes due west of Hurlburt Field. For directions to Hurlburt Field, use Google map (PNS to Hurlburt Field, FL). For taxi or shuttle information, please visit: Pensacola Ground Transportation Transportation Rental Cars, etc. Students attending AOCFTU courses are required to have transportation (POV, rental car, or ride sharing) while here TDY. Shuttle service is not available on Hurlburt Field. Please ensure you get authorization/approval for a rental car, as needed. Due to wide variations in class schedules, rental cars should not be shared by personnel enrolled in different courses. NOTE: Vicinity mileage is NOT reimbursable. Traffic Traffic coming onto base in the morning is heavy, as is traffic leaving base in the afternoon. Allocate sufficient travel time to arrive on time. Lodging Military Lodging Billeting Name Address Phone Hurlburt Commando Inn 301 Tully St Please make reservations at the Hurlburt Commando Inn ($60 per day) in DTS. If you cannot make a reservation at the Commando Inn and receive a Non-Availability Letter, you will need to ensure that the hotel you choose is within the rates allowed. If will be at Hurlburt Field for over 30 days, you will need to find a hotel that is at the 75% rate of off-base lodging. See page 6 for further information. Tax Exemption Certificate Students staying off base must provide the below tax exemption certificate to the hotel front desk when checking in. Some hotels may ask for proof of official travel orders; however, please do not provide them a copy of your orders or let them photocopy your Common Access Card (CAC). Please provide them a copy of your non-availability letter. Page 9

11 Day One Arrival 505 TRS/AOC FTU Student Reporting Procedures All students will report to the 505th TRS AOC FTU at (see Map) 100 O Neil Avenue, Hurlburt Field, Florida 32544, Bldg NLT 0700 on the first day of class. Please have your photo identification card and orders ready. Please see chart on Page 5 for starting class dates and duration. If you are going to be late for any reason, please call Student Services at /6237 during duty hours and the Duty Officer at after duty hours. For after-hours access, you can enable your CAC or Government ID with proper certificates on the Fitness 24/7 Access System at the Commando Fitness Center during Monday to Friday from 0500 to 1900 to authenticate your entry or receive a pin for afterhours access to the Aderholt Fitness Center. They provide psycho-education to help Service Members at their families understand the impact of deployments, family reunions following deployments, and other stresses related to military life. MFLC counselors can provide individual, couples, and family counseling. Services can be provided both on or off-base. All services are confidential and private. Hurlburt Field Concealed Carry Information Members that work on Hurlburt Field are allowed to transport privately owned firearms onto base and secure in a privately owned vehicle. 13 Recording of Installation Operations 505 TRS/AOC FTU Student Reporting Procedures Video recording of Hurlburt Field operations is prohibited. This applies to ALL personnel regardless of duty status. Restriction begins at the installation gates and extends to entire installation. Prohibited recording devices include, but are not limited to: dash cameras mounted on interior or exterior of the vehicle, GoPro-type cameras, and cell phone camera. Violaters will have devices confiscated and inspected by 1 SOSFS, AFOSI, and/or other appropriate agencies. See the full Installation Policy letter on page 20. Additional Information Hurlburt Field: Local area: Local Policies Student Weekend Pass And Travel Policy Students must sign out for the weekend with their course manager, acknowledging and certifying travel plans. Students under 26 years traveling outside the local area (30 miles) will complete an AF Form 4392 Pre-departure Safety Briefing conducted by the Course Managers. Course Managers will sign the weekend sign-out sheet and provide a copy to Student Services (DOMS) by noon each Friday. Home station commanders must approve leave for all students. The 505th TRS/CC will NOT approve any leave for students attending AOC FTU courses. Page 13
