3 WELCOME ADDRESS FROM THE CHAIRMAN On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to participate in the International Conference on Nanoscience and Technology, China 2009 (ChinaNANO 2009) which will be held between September 1-3, 2009 in Beijing, China. This is the third conference following the successful ChinaNANO 2005 and ChinaNANO 2007 held in 2005 and in 2007 in Beijing, respectively. ChinaNANO 2009 is intended to stimulate discussions on the forefront of research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. The conference will focus on nano-information materials, nano-energy and environmental materials, nanodevices and sensors, nanomedicine, nanopharmacy and biomedical engineering, nanofabrication and nanometrology, characterization of nanostructures, nano-optics and plasmonics, as well as modeling and simulation of nanostructures. We sincerely hope that the scope of the conference will serve the interest of the scientific community, as well as the industry and the general public. I wish to extend my welcome to all participants and sponsors of the event. CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND PAPERS Abstracts Participants are invited to submit abstracts, and encouraged to upload the abstracts electronically via the conference website before April 30, After registration, authors will receive a registration number and password that will allow you to log in again and upload abstracts later. All abstracts must be submitted by presenting authors and each presenting author can submit maximum two abstracts. All abstracts should be written in English (text only) without using any special character, table or figure. The length is limited to 300 words. Papers After receiving notification of abstract acceptance, please submit your manuscripts to ChinaNANO 2009 by to chinanano2009@nanoctr.cn before July 31, The manuscripts will be peer reviewed and selected by the scientific committee of the conference. The accepted manuscripts will be published as a conference proceeding in Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (JNN) (

Refund Policy and Cancellation Charge A written notification of cancellation from attendees must be received and confirmed by the conference secretariat before a refund can be issued.
