Goal: Produce highly effective medical teams that optimize the use of information, people and resources to achieve the best clinical outcomes Teams of individuals who communicate effectively and back each other up dramatically reduce the consequences of human error Team skills are not innate; they must be trained Mod Page 11

17 Master Training Train-the-Trainer Model Refers to the approach in which the TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer Course provides training to a group of participants, who then conduct training of staff at the unit, department, or facility level. Participants will: 1. Become familiar with TeamSTEPPS tools and methodology 2. Be equipped to teach TeamSTEPPS tools to others at their organization 3.
