Geerally, we use a birthday rule to decide which of the two plas would be the primary pla. The birthday rule. If both parets provide beefits for a child, the the primary pla is the oe from the paret whose birthday comes first i the year. So, if oe paret s birthday is Jauary 12 ad the other paret s is April 1, the primary payer will be the pla from the paret whose birthday comes first Jauary 12. I the uusual case that both parets have the same birthday, the pla of the paret who has provided beefits logest for the child will be primary. 4
