3 AIRSCARES Haunted Experience In 2012, the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie and AIR joined in a partnership to provide the City of Airdrie and surrounding communities with a premium haunted experience. We have since branched off on our own and are excited to bring this event annually to our community. General Information Theme & Story Line This year s haunted exhibition theme will be focused around the brothers Grimm and haunted fairy tales. Ages No one under the age of 7 years old will be permitted to enter the haunted exhibition. Children between the ages of 7 to 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Dates & Hours October 13th - 7pm - 10pm October 14th - 7pm - 11pm October 15th - 7pm - 10pm October 18th - 7pm - 10pm October 19th - 7pm - 10pm October 20th - 7pm - 11pm October 21st - 7pm - 11pm October 22nd - 7pm - 10-pm October 25th - 7pm - 10pm October 26th - 7pm - 10pm October 27th - 7pm - 11pm October 28th - 7pm - 11pm October 29th - 7pm - 10pm October 30th - 7pm - 10pm Tickets General Admission - $15/person Family Pass - $55.00 Two adults and two children. $4.00 for each additional child. 4 Definitions Haunted Experience shall mean the AIRSCARES haunted attraction produced by the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie. Visitors or Patrons shall mean members of the general public visiting the haunted experience. Building or Facility shall mean the space located at 805 Main Street, Airdrie, AB leased by the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie for the purpose of producing a haunted exhibition. Staff Responsibilities House Manager For each public performance of AIRSCARES haunted experience, a Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie staff member will serve as the house manager. The House Manager shall have overall responsibility for the safe operation of the House and for the implementation of any emergency plans. If the House Manager must leave the premise (even for a brief period), he/she shall delegate responsibility to another staff member. Team Lead The Team Lead shall serve as a second to the House Manager. If the House Manager must leave and there is a Team Lead on site, they shall take over the House Manager responsibilities. Box Office Manager For each public performance of AIRSCARES haunted experience, a Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie staff member or adult volunteer will serve as the Box Office Manager. The Box Office Manager will have a two-way radio. In the event of a fire or other emergency requiring outside assistance, the House Manager will notify (in person or by radio) the Box Office Manager who will then call for assistance. The Box Office Manager will also have a list of volunteers within the house each night as well as their emergency contact information. Front Door Attendant Will be responsible for collecting tickets, organizing groups, and keeping an up to date total on how many patrons are currently within the building. Volunteers Every volunteer shall take responsibility for their own safety and for the safety of those in their immediate vicinity. Observations of unsafe conditions should be immediately brought to the attention of the House Manager. Volunteers will familiarize themselves with Haunted House layout, exits, and emergency exits. 5 Communications At all times when the haunted house is open to the public, the following staff shall remain in contact via two-way radios: House Manager Team Lead Box Office Manager Front Door Attendant There will also be two-way radios strategically placed throughout the haunted house for volunteers to use in case of emergency. This communication will play a crucial part in any emergency procedures that may occur and/or general safety and patron enjoyment. AIRSCARES Haunted Experience Rules & Regulations Tickets are Non-Refundable No Photography or Video Recording of Any Kind Visitors of the Haunted Experience Must Stay with Their Guide at All Times The Actors Can Not Touch You, and You Can Not Touch the Actors Safe word is Unicorn once you say this your haunted experience is over No Smoking Within the House or in Lineups No Food or Beverage Within the Attraction No Flashlights or Laser Lights Within the Attraction Emergency Codes Unicorn Once a patron uses this safe word they will be escorted out by a cast member with a flashlight. The flashlight will indicate to other cast members not to scare the patron that is being escorted out. Code Red Indicates and emergency evacuation. Reasons could include fire, danger, intruder ext. All lights will come on, sound effects turned off, and a headcount will take place at each exit as patrons leave the building. Exit counters will be indicated each evening prior to the haunted exhibition opening, and will combine headcounts together at the specified meeting location. Page 4 of 6
6 Code Blue Indicates a medical emergency. House manager should be contact immediately and will determine how to move forward with the situation. Emergency Evacuation Plan / Code Red In the event of a code red the following actions should take place: The emergency alarm will be sounded. All lights should be turned on and sound turned off by volunteers/staff appointed prior to opening to the public. A staff member/volunteer who will be appointed prior to opening to the public will be placed at each of the four emergency exits. This person will take a head count of every person exiting the building. The House Manager will contact the front door attendant who will have an up to date total on how many individuals are in the building. Once the House Manager has confirmed the total of patrons within the house he/she will contact each exit counter and ensure the totals at that everyone has been evacuated from the premise. Once evacuation has been confirmed everyone will meet at the pre-determined meeting place until further instructions are given by emergency responders. Staff or Cast located in the Volunteer quarters will vacate through one of the emergency exits. Please review floor plan on next page to note all emergency exits and locations. Medical Emergency Plan / Code Blue In the event of a Code Blue the following actions should take place: Person discovering a medical emergency shall immediately notify the house manager. House Manager will instruct the Box Office Manager to call for assistance. Persons unconscious or seriously injured should not be removed or repositioned. o Lights should be turned on and sound effects turned off. o No new patrons will be permitted to enter the haunted attraction. Injured or ill persons who are ambulatory should be assisted to the nearest emergency exit to wait for outside assistance. Please review floor plan on next page to note first aid kits and emergency two-way radio stations. Power Failure Emergency Plan In the event of total power failure, the emergency lighting system will activate and the House Manager and Team Lead will circulate through the house to ensure everyone remains calm.
