1 1. Design Concept, Guidelines, Requirements and Reference Information 1.1 Will the logos of HKTB and OTC be required to be included in the design? Answer : It is not necessary to include any logos in the design for this submission stage. Once the winning designs have been selected by the Judging Panel, the Selected Parties will be required to work with HKTB s appointed contractor to embed the logos in the winning designs. 1.2 Will the thematic visuals be required to be adapted or included in the design? Answer : The thematic visuals of OTC are enclosed for Participants reference only. Participants are required to develop a design to represent the gist of OTC and/or relevant to the key theme(s) of OTC, in compliance with other requirements in the Invitation for Entry. 1.3 Can I submit the design entry in Chinese only? Answer : Participants are advised to submit the entry in English and supplement with Chinese content if necessary. 1.4 Will the Organiser provide site plan and the detail lamp post drawing in CAD format? Answer : The Organiser will NOT provide CAD format site plan and detail lamp post drawing. Participants can refer to Annex 3 for the location plan and Annex 4 for the specification of lamppost for details and prepare their own drawing for the submission of entry. 1.5 I cannot find an original and 3D drawings in the competition web site. Will these digital drawing be provided to the participant? Answer : The Organiser will NOT provide any digital 3D drawings. 1.6 Will the organiser arrange a site visit with briefing on site? Answer : A briefing session will be arranged on 8 August, 7pm. The Organiser will NOT arrange site visit. If Participants consider that site visit is necessary, they are advised to arrange site visit on their own as Hollywood Road is a public street.

2 1.7 Annex 3 shows the locations of the lampposts for the competition (regular lampposts). According to Annex 4, there are 6 sets of dimensions of lampposts. Please clarify the dimensions of the lampposts for the competition. Answer : According to the advice of the Highways Department, the height of lampposts ranges from 8 12 metres*. Please refer to Annex 4 of the Invitation of Entry for the detail dimension of lamppost for your reference. Please be reminded that the dimension is just for your reference only, the actual dimensions need to be confirmed on site. 1.8 Under point B (3) of the "invitation for Entry", "bunting" and "pole" area are referred to in Annex 4. However, no such words as "bunting" or "pole" could be found in Annex 4. Please clarify. Answer : The diagram below indicates the bunting and pole area for your reference. Please be reminded that the maximum size of each banner, bunting, decoration display area and weight should not exceed 1.7 m2 (per display) and 10kg (per display) respectively; and the maximum size of the materials at bunting area is 0.85mW x 2mH.

3 1.9 Under Annex 2, the max. size of each bunting is 1.7m2. Please clarify on the measurement method in case of a hollow or other design shape. Answer : There is no limitation on the shape and design of bunting. The maximum size of bunting area is 0.85mW x 2mH, in any kind of shape or design Under Annex 2, power supply from the public lighting system is prohibited. Please advise if there is any other requirement or restriction of the power supply for the lighting elements that may be included in the design. Answer : For the lighting elements of the lamppost design, please make sure they comply with the Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406) and the Supply Rules of the Power Company. Please refer to the link here for Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406) : elegislation.gov.hk/hk/cap Under Annex 2, the lighting elements should not be supported from the lampposts. Please advise if light-weight installations, e.g. LED light strips, should also have individual supports separate from the lamppost structures. Answer : No power supply could be supported from the lampposts regardless of the form of the proposed lighting elements. The proposed lighting elements should comply with the Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406) and the Supply Rules of the Power Company if you consider including the electrical installations in your design. The weight of the light-weight installation should be included in the total display weight which should be less than 10kg (per display) The lampposts are clusters located along a street with changing streetscapes. Can the submission contain more than one lamppost design? Answer : Yes, more than one lamppost design is welcomed. If the design is specially tailor-made for Zone A or Zone B, please mark clearly in your submission. Each participating team should submit ONE entry only. The entry should include the master design layout plan for Zone A or Zone B, or Zone A & Zone B Do we need to strictly follow the specification from HyD? Answer : Whether or not the design entry comply with the specifications and regulations provided by HyD in Annex 2 will be one of the major criteria for the judgement and selection of the winning entry.

4 1.14 What does point 9 mean? "The lighting elements should have their own support? Support from lamp post is not allowed?" Does it mean the "bunting/wrapping/decoration" cannot attach to the existing lamp post? Answer : As there is no power supply from the pole or the public lighting system, participants should take this into your design consideration if you are proposing alternative power supply and lighting elements in your designs. All the lighting elements proposed in your design are required to comply with the Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406) and the Supply Rules of the Power Company. Please refer to the following link for Electricity Ordinance (Cap. 406): elegislation.gov.hk/hk/cap406 The Bunting/wrapping/decoration is allowed to be attached to the existing lamp post. All the proposed design and decoration the bunting and pole area of the existing lampposts are required to compile fully with the specification and regulations provided by HyD. Please refer to the Power Point presentation slides in the briefing session on 8 August 2017 and Annex 2 for details Are we now redesigning the lamppost? Replacing and reinstalling an entire new one designed by the winner? Answer : This design competition does not ask for redesigning the lamppost. The objective of this design competition is to create an impactful city ambience along Hollywood Road by dressing up the bunting and pole area of existing lampposts. Winning Teams are required to work with the contractor appointed by the Organiser and modify their design to fit the specification of existing lampposts, if necessary Do we only do the "bunting/wrapping/decoration" for the existing lamppost? Answer : Please refers to our reply on item 3 above. Any creative design is welcome as long as the designs fully comply with the design guideline and relevant regulations specified in the Invitation for Entry and Annex Eligibility 2.1 I am a student of Architecture/Urban Design undergraduate course. Am I eligible to join the competition? Answer : If you are aged 18 or above and meet all other criteria of eligibility, you could join the competition as one of the team members. However, the team leader must be aged 18 or above and MUST be a member (except student member) of either HKIA or HKIUD.

5 2.2 I have just graduated from the University of the undergraduate course in Architecture/Urban Design and still looking for job. Am I entitled to join the competition? Answer : If you are a Graduate members of either HKIA or HKIUD, you are eligible to be a Team Leader. If you are not, you can still join the competition as one of the members of a team. As a member of a team, you can come from different professions or backgrounds but you must be aged 18 or above. However, as a team leader, you must be aged 18 or above and MUST be a member (except student member) of either HKIA or HKIUD. Please be reminded that all participants, including the team leader and members, are required to meet all the eligibility stated in the Invitation for Entry. 2.3 I am a licensed Architect in overseas and I am a full member of an overseas institute but I am not a member of HKIA or HKIUD. Am I eligible to join the competition? Answer : If you are aged 18 or above and meet other eligibility criteria, you could join the competition as one of the team members. However, the team leader must be aged 18 or above and MUST be a member (except student member) of either HKIA or HKIUD. 2.4 One of our team member is under 18 years old. Is he allowed to join the competition? If one of our team member is under 18 years old and we submit the entry, will we be disqualified? Answer : All participants, including Team Leader and all members, must be aged 18 or above. Participants shall take their responsibility to ensure the compliance of each member on eligibility. Any entry with members of the group who do not meet all criteria of eligibility will not be recognized as a qualified entry in the Competition. 2.5 Is there any limitation on the maximum number of team members? Answer : Any team participating the competition shall compose of not less than two (2) persons. In theory, there is no maximum limit regarding the numbers of members in a team. 2.6 If we have a team member working for HKTB, is he/she eligible to join? Answer : In accordance with the eligibility stated in the Invitation for Entry, to avoid conflict of interest, employees of HKTB, HKIA, HKIUD and all supporting organizations, and members of the Judging Panel and its immediate family members are ineligible to enter the Competition. 2.7 Being an employee of one of the supporting organization, am I eligible to join the competition? Answer : In accordance with the eligibility stated in the Invitation for Entry, to avoid conflict of interest, employees of HKTB, HKIA, HKIUD and all supporting organizations, and members of the Judging Panel and its immediate family members are ineligible to enter the Competition.

6 3. Deliverables 3.1 Can a CD-ROM for the electronic submissions be submitted instead of a USB Flash Drive? Answer : Yes, a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or USB Flash Drive, which could save and maintain electronic copies in good condition, are all welcomed. 3.2 Under the "Invitation for entry ", a certified true copy of the proof of eligibility shall be submitted. Please clarify on the requirements of the "certified true copy". Answer : Please submit a photocopy of the membership certification, on which the membership number of HKIA and HKIUD can clearly be identified. 4. Judging 4.1 Will the individual entry be judged differently than the team entry? Answer : Only team entry will be accepted. All eligible entries will be judged in a fair and equal basis according to the judging criteria specified in the Invitation for Entry. 5. Prize 5.1 If I am joining the competition with others, will the winning prize be divided in pro-rata among all my team members if we win the design competition? Answer : The prize will be awarded to the Team Leader on a team basis. Each team will receive HKD150,000 regardless of the number of Participants. Participants of all the teams are advised to agree among themselves on the sharing of the prize money if their entry win. The Organiser will not be responsible for any kind of dispute arises from individual members on the division of prize money among themselves. The Team Leader is also advised to observe and compile with all the necessary requirement arises from the receipt of the prize money by the applicable tax law in Hong Kong. Updated on 17 August 2017
