6 Building capacity and skills for jobs in Greece Supporting youth entrepreneurship and employability in Kosovo School partnerships in F.Y.R. of Macedonia Working together for sustainability in Serbia Education for all in Bulgaria For the past four years, TITAN Greece has partnered with the Board of European Students of Technology, providing young people with greater experience of Occupational Health and Safety issues in a work environment. The educational program operates at TITAN facilities in three Greek cities and provides more than 20,000 training hours every year. Since 2012, around 450 students have participated, gaining essential skills and enhancing their employability. TITAN also supports the Nikos Analytis CSR competition, which promotes collaboration among young students at 20 academic institutions. The Laboratori për Aktivitete të Biznesit (LAB) is an independent foundation, envisaged and initiated by TITAN Kosovo and supported by a multistakeholder partnership. Its aim is to help reduce poverty and unemployment in the area through the development of entrepreneurial skills and by building the capacity of participants to run a sustainable business. In less than two years, LAB has supported 22 new entrepreneurs with small farming activities, in a region with almost 70% unemployment among young people. Since 2010, TITAN F.Y.R. of Macedonia has been running the Partnering with Schools project, which benefits schools and kindergartens in Kisela Voda, the municipality that neighbors our operations in Usje. The project seeks to continuously improve the health, safety and environmental conditions inside schools, with collaboration between the private and public sectors. Our local teams also organize facility tours to help young people explore where their interests and talents could lead. At the end of 2014, over 6,650 students and 671 school employees have benefited. Together with local stakeholders in Kosjerić, TITAN Serbia organizes an annual contest to initiate inclusive and sustainable community development. It is open to all interested parties, but projects must help solve cultural, ecological, educational and social issues; demonstrate the benefits for the local community; and comply with TITAN s values and the municipality s development strategy. Winning projects include a folklore festival, educating children on environmental care through a traveling caravan, a program for developing children s reading habits and a unique community event space, benefiting more than 2,000 people in less than three years. A social impact assessment run by TITAN Bulgaria in 2010 identified neighboring Roma communities as a key stakeholder. Cultural diversity and segregation led to significant numbers of early school leavers and low educational levels. The assessment initiated a partnership agreement with schools and NGOs and the program Teach for All, designed to improve education and motivate children to finish school. The program runs in four villages, benefiting over 230 students. Within two years, it has doubled participation levels and developed children s learning skills, illustrating the importance of collective action.
