1 2018 PAC Australia Travel Subsidy ABOUT THE TRAVEL SUBSIDY The 2018 PAC Australia Performing Arts Exchange (PAX) and Making Space Conference will be held in Karratha, WA on 2-6 September. As an exclusive offer to PAC Australia members, we are pleased to provide travel subsidies to support the cost of attending the event in a regional city. This has been made possible through the generous support of the City of Karratha. In order to allocate travel funds equitably to our members, we have determined the subsidy based on our research of flight costs from around Australia (noting that the subsidy amount is not intended to offset your entire flight cost but rather minimise the cost imposition of travelling to a regional city). The amount you are eligible to apply for is provided in the application form and in Attachment A. A timeline of key dates relating to the travel subsidy and conference registrations is included in Attachment B for your information. APPLYING FOR THE SUBSIDY Due to the anticipated number of delegates you must apply for the travel subsidy (i.e. it is not automatically deducted from your registration, or remitted without official application approval). You do not have to have registered for the event at the time of applying for the subsidy. The subsidy will be paid when: a) you have received confirmation that your application was approved AND b) you have completed (and paid for) your registration.

2 We aim to provide travel support to as many of our members as possible. In the interest of this, organisations and/or artists who have been selected to pitch at PAX and are receiving travel support from their state government are ineligible for additional travel subsidy. Organisations pitching at PAX who are not receiving travel support from their state government will need to register for the travel subsidy but will not be subject to the assessment process. To ensure you can secure your travel arrangements in your preferred timeframe, the applications will be approved in two rounds. 1. Early applications (round one) will close on Friday 23 rd March with applicants advised of the outcome by Friday 30 th March. Only one delegate per organisation will be considered in the first round. Presenters, festivals, service organisations and government agencies applying in the first round must be attending all four days. 2. Final applications (round two) will close on Friday 13 th July with applicants advised of the outcome by Friday 20 th July (allowing time for the applicant to register prior to the closing of Early Bird prices). Additional delegates per organisation will be considered in the second round. If you were unsuccessful in the first round, you may apply again in the second round. NOTES: 1. Should there be any unexpended funds at the close of Round Two, PAC Australia will reconsider previously unsuccessful applications and apply funds to delegates experiencing financial hardship. 2. Even if you receive confirmation that your application was successful, the travel subsidy will not be paid until your registration for PAX/Conference is confirmed and paid for. SELECTION CRITERIA and APPLICATION PROCESS Selection Criteria: - All applicants must be from a PAC Australia member organisation - There is a fixed amount of funds available for distribution and therefore the panel will consider: o You must be a PAC Australia member (excluding Producers pitching at PAX) o Extent to which cost is a barrier for attendance by the applicant.

3 As part of the application process, you will be asked: - Where are you travelling from? - What is the annual turnover of your organisation? - Have you (or someone else within your organisation) been to a PAC Australia conference or Performing Arts Exchange before? - Are you attending: a. Full four days b. Performing Arts Exchange only c. Conference only You can complete your application here Your application for the travel subsidy will be assessed by a panel comprising PAC Australia members and staff. SUCCESSFUL APPLICATIONS Process upon a successful application: 1. You will be advised in writing, via , by the date/s specified above about the outcome of your application. 2. You will need to send us an invoice for the confirmed subsidy amount to accounts@paca.org.au (PAC Australia operates on a fortnightly payment cycle). 3. When your PAX/Conference registration is confirmed, payment will be made into your organisation s nominated bank account (payments will not be issued to individuals unless you are a sole-trader).
