1 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP GUIDELINES In keeping with our philosophy of community banking, we are proud to support local events and groups as part of our Community Partnership program. When evaluating a sponsorship application, priority is given to organisations and events that are customers of SCCU. We will not usually sponsor an event where another financial institution is a sponsor. When to Apply We have two rounds of funding per year. Applications must be received by 5pm on the closing dates specified below. Applications must be lodged via , post or in person. Amount Grants above $1,500 Grants under $1,499 Due dates Applications due: December 1st (for January December of the following calendar year) Applications due: Nov 30th (for January July of the following year) Applications due: June 30th (for August December of the same calendar year) Eligibility We provide support to organisations from small, unincorporated groups to medium size organisations. Groups that we support must be not-for-profit organisations. We apply the Australian Taxation Office s definition of not-for-profit organisations for the purposes of our Community Partnership program. A not-for-profit organisation is defined as one which is not operating for the profit or gain of its individual members. This applies to direct and indirect gains. Any profit made by the organisation goes back into the operation of the organisation to carry out its purposes and is not distributed to any of its members. What We Can t Fund We cannot support the following: Organisations/groups that do not hold a Southern Cross Credit Union account Individual pursuits such as travel to participate in sporting events or ongoing medical treatment Events or organisations involved in commercial activities Events where another financial institution, bank or insurance competitor are a sponsor Programs that could be detrimental to public health or safety, discriminatory, or offensive to the community Projects of a political or religious nature Events that encourage smoking, substance abuse, irresponsible alcohol consumption or gambling Organisations and events outside our SCCU s footprint or overseas Expeditions or travel outside SCCU s footprint or overseas Activities that duplicate our existing sponsorships

2 Requesting an amount We will accept applications of any amount. However, please be careful not to over and under estimate your request. It is expected that you are able to accurately estimate the amount you need to serve your purpose accurately. Amount Limits We have a limit of $5,000 for any one calendar year per organisation. How to Apply We aim to make the application process simple and give every applicant an equal opportunity to produce a quality application. The Community Partnership application form can be accessed via our website. The application form is a critical part of our evaluation process which we use to measure your application against our selection criteria, so we encourage you to complete the form carefully and answer all questions. Assessment Process Our assessment process will take four weeks from the date of submission. Please keep this in mind when making your sponsorship application. The Marketing Manager will review all applications received in cooperation with Team Leaders. Those applications that meet our application criteria will then be considered for funding. Successful and non-successful applicants will be advised via of the outcome of their application. Approval Notification You will be notified of the success of your application within four weeks from the date of submission. Please remember that we receive a large number of applications every year and it is impossible for us to fund every application that satisfies the Community Partnership criteria. If your application is successful, we will arrange to speak with you about working in partnership to ensure our organisations attain mutual benefit. If your application is unsuccessful we encourage you to reapply in the future or talk to us about our Referrer Rewards Program. Evaluation and Reporting All successful applicants are required to provide a post event report within four weeks of your project or event completion. The report should include: How your funding was spent Event attendance and feedback If the objectives in your application were met Examples of any media, advertising or editorial content you received Photos of the event including evidence of our sponsorship (ie. Signage, promotional items etc.) Terms and Conditions for Funding Bank account with SCCU for payment of funding Use of funds Event going ahead as planned Event changes means we can seek return of funds

5 COMMUNITY REWARDS Community Rewards is a program that supports local community groups, events and organisations with financial assistance when you promote SCCU. Your group or organisation agrees to promote SCCU home loans to your members. If a referral from your group or organisation has a home loan funded, SCCU will make a cash donation.
