1 Welcome to the ASFPM National Conference Presentation Submission Form TO SUBMIT Submissions will only be accepted online using this form. The deadline for presentation submissions is October 31, There is only one submission form for Workshops and Concurrent Session presentations (defined below). Questions are tailored to fit the kind of presentation you are submitting. Please answer the first question carefully and submit only once. HOW TO PREVIEW THIS FORM FIRST INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: Copy link for this page before clicking links below: Should you wish to review the list of required information prior to completing the submission form, a PDF of each set of questions can be found on the ASFPM website: Concurrent Session Submission Form PREVIEW files/conferences/2015_concurrent_submission_form_preview.pdf Workshop Submission Form PREVIEW files/conferences/2015_workshop_submission_form_preview.pdf Tips to Improve Your Odds of Being Selected to Present: files/conferences/2014_speaker_tips.pdf PLEASE READ: It is recommended that you preview the form before you submit using the linked PDF versions above. Presenters are urged to create a text version of their abstract or workshop submission in a Word document to copy and paste into the online form BEFORE submitting online so they have a copy of their submission. The online form will NOT send Presenters a copy of their submission. Due to the high volume of submissions, we are not able to provide copies of submissions. Only online submissions will be considered, the PDF previews are for review ONLY. Workshop submissions are different than Concurrent Session submissions and each require separate submission forms and information: Workshops are 2 4 hour long courses which include a syllabus, course objectives, and exercises. Workshops should be targeted at offering continuing education for floodplain management professionals. Workshop attendees may pay a fee in addition to their conference registration to attend. Concurrent Session presentations are minutes in length and fit within the standard conference agenda. Concurrent session attendance is included with conference registration. Presentations fit within conference topical tracks, which you will be able to select from on a following page after choosing "Concurrent Session" below. Because of the joint construction of this form, your answers may cause you to jump ahead so the question numbering may not be consecutive. If you are submitting both a concurrent session and a workshop or are submitting more than one concurrent session abstract, you will need to complete this form in its entirety for one presentation (either workshop OR concurrent session) and THEN go back to the presentation submission link (on last page of this form) and submit the second presentation separately. Thank you for your submission. Submit your Workshop or Concurrent Session presentation online at:
2 1. Using the definition of a Workshop, and Concurrent Session (above), which presentation are you submitting? Please choose only one answer. Workshop (2 4 hour long course) Concurrent Session (25 30 minute presentation)
3 CONCURRENT SESSION Submission Form EDITING While completing this form, please keep in mind that if your abstract is selected, much of this information will be posted online and distributed to attendees to help advertise your session. ASFPM will post this information with as little editing as possible. Please consider your readers and draft responses in complete sentences where appropriate. Presenters are strongly urged to draft their responses in a Word document first so they can spell check and then copy and paste the text into this form. Please also save the Word file for your records if your abstract is approved for the conference program, you will be able to update your abstract with any new or changed information prior to the final program going to print. CONFIRMING YOUR SUBMISSION Due the large volume of responses, ASFPM cannot provide copies of your submission to you or verify your submission was received. At the end of this submittal form, you will receive confirmation that your concurrent session abstract or workshop was received. SELECTION PROCESS There is limited space available in the concurrent sessions program. For previous conferences, there has not been enough room for all of the submitted abstracts. Preference will be given to an abstract which, combined with other abstracts of similar focus, create a cohesive and relevant session for a conference track. For information on numbers of abstracts by track submitted in past years, please reference the "Speaker Tips" brochure on the ASFPM website: Selected presenters will be notified by the end of January EXPECTATIONS OF PRESENTERS Presenters who wish to provide handouts must do so at their own discretion and expense, ASFPM does not provide print services. All conference presenters are required to register to attend the full conference. Travel approvals for June 2015 are unknown, but if you know with certainty that you will not be able to register for the conference, please do not submit an abstract. Concurrent Session presentations are coordinated by the Conference Program Chair. Please see information on the ASFPM website at or contact Steve McMaster at steve.mcmaster@ideationinc.com, or call with questions. 32. I have previewed the submission form questions and have saved a text copy of my submission information for my use. I'm ready to enter my information: Yes No
