3 Initiative: 2011 CWA Swan River Watershed Grant Administration Year: Initiative Type: Admin/Coordination Administrative Assistant (Sarah Primus) and Resource Conservationist (Amy Piekarski) will be responsible for the tracking of grant funds, elink reporting, updating the SWCD website & bringing cost-share contracts to the SWCD Board for approval. District Manager (Sandy Rohr) will be responsible for all overhead costs associated with the grant. 1st Report, June 30, 2011: Amy & Sarah updated the SWCD website, completed news releases, developed tracking spreadsheets for funds and expended funds in elink. 2nd Report, December 31, 2011: Amy & Sarah maintained the SWCD website, brought five C/S contracts to the board for approval and reported completed projects in elink Clean Water Assistance - Todd (SWCD) 10, , /30/11 10, , Initiative: 2011 CWA Swan River Watershed Project Development Year: Initiative Type: Project Development Resource Conservationist (Amy Piekarski) & WCA/Feedlot Technician (Ed Uhlenkamp) will be responsible for contacting landowners throughout the Swan River Watershed who might be interested in conservation projects. We will accomplish this by attending Lake Association meetings, contacting landowners who we have been in previous contact with and by informing the watershed residents using our newsletter. 1st Report, June 30,2011: Ed & Amy attended one joint Lake Association Meeting for Long and Big Swan Lakes, 16 lakeshore property owners attended the meeting. 14 landowners were visited on-site by the technicians to determine possible projects. 2nd Report, December 31, 2011: Technicians visited with eight new landowers interested in projects Clean Water Assistance - Todd (SWCD) 15,0000 5, /30/ CWA-Landowner Fund Swan River 1, /30/11 16,0000 5, Page 3 of 9
4 Initiative: 2011 CWA Swan River Watershed Technical/Engineering Year: Initiative Type: Technical and Engineering Resource Conservationist (Amy Piekarski) & WCA/Feedlot Technician (Ed Uhlenkamp) will be responsible for preliminary site evaluations, development of plans, inspecting projects and spot checks in following years. WCTSA engineers will be utilized to do site evaluations, construct plans, oversee construction and sign off on completed projects. DNR Hydrologist, Tim Crocker, will provide guidance on projects that are installed below the OHW. 1st Report June 30, 2011: WCTSA Engineers surveyed ten potential project sites. 2nd Report, December 31, 2011: WCTSA Engineers designed five projects and were utilized for installation inspections during this period 57 $100/hour. 5 Project: Project Number: 2011 CWA Swan River Watershed Materials & Labor 00-11SR Approval Date: These funds will be used to purchase materials for projects and the labor associated with installing them. Landowners may choose to do the labor themselves or hire a contractor, the party completing the work will be responsible for completing the project to the standards established by Todd SWCD. The standard for materials used will be determined by WCTSA engineer or NRCS EFOTG. Work will be done on 19 lakeshore properties and 3 farm sites. 1st Report, June 30, 2011: No projects were completed during this time frame. 2nd Report, December 31, 2011: Three projects were completed during this time frame. 7 Project: Project Number: Enchanted Loop Shoreland Stabilization 4-11SR Richard Krauel Approval Date: 10/24/2011 Streambank of Shoreland Protection 12/15/2011 Removed old retaining wall structure made from rail-road timbers and some rock riprap. Regraded slope to a 2:1 used filter fabric and engineered riprap. Erosion Control blankets were used to covered exposed soil after grass seed was planted. In the spring of 2012 native vegetation will be planted in the upper portion of the riprap and along the shoreline. Shoreline Stabilization N/A Streambank of Shoreland Protection Approval Date: The project consisted of 3 rain gardens, a shoreline buffer, shoreline stabilization and non-point erosion control practices on their 926 feet of shoreline. Landowners declined the project due to the docking changes that would be required and overall project cost.
