3 DODD E According to DODD E Defense Logistics Management Standards It is DOD policy that 1. DLMS is the DoD standard for EDI among the automated information systems that comprise assigned business processes of the global supply chain management system. 2. ANSI ASC X12 is the baseline standard that supports the DLMS transactional information exchanges. WARFIGHTER FIRST 3

4 DODD E Per DODD E, The DOD Component Heads shall: 1. Support the DLMS Change Management Process. 2. Uniformly implement the DLMS in all information systems that support DLM procedures. 3. Use the services of the DLMS global services providers to support Automated Information Systems (AISs) that perform the business functions covered in the DLM Use DLMS for ASC X12* transactions with contractors in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart WARFIGHTER FIRST 4

7 DOD BEA According to the DOD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) Version 11.0 Pursuant to DoD Directive (DoDD) E, all DBS with functionality supporting the Logistics and Material Readiness functional strategy business area must comply with the Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS). 8 DLMS Compliance Levels Applies to systems executing DLM Business Processes Level 3 FULL COMPLIANCE In addition to Level 1, the system has implemented ALL applicable DLMS enhancements contained in ADCs In addition to Level 1, the system has implemented the preponderance of applicable DLMS Level 2 enhancements contained in ENHANCED ADCs COMPLIANCE Interfaces with Level 1 other systems via BASIC DLMS COMPLIANCE DLMS IPT Working Toward Quarterly Level II & III Compliance Status Reporting & Metrics WARFIGHTER FIRST 8

9 DLMS Compliance Checklist Use the Compliance Checklist for systems meeting the following conditions: The system's description in Defense Information Technology Portfolio Repository (DITPR) potentially identifies DLMS applicability. The system maps to one or more of the Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) operational activities within the Integrated Business Framework Data Alignment Portal (IBF-DAP). WARFIGHTER FIRST 9

Does the system perform business functions, and/or manage, send/receive, display, or store data associated with the business functionality and processes covered by DLM ? 2. If Yes, then you must answer 8 additional questions. 3.
