Includes data dissemination through beyond-line-of-sight data links to ground data terminals. Funding to date: $160M for OIF $61.4M for OEF Persistent Threat Detection System Large-area elevated surveillance full motion video support for forward operating bases. Provides persistent surveillance over long periods, over a wide area. Currently several deployed in support of OIF & OEF. Funding to date: $200M through FY06 FY07: $21.3M FY08: $37.2 Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID) Towers Coupled with aerostat balloons, mobile elevated towers provide 24- hour surveillance & target identification; full motion video; precise targeting ability for both indirect fires & vectoring quick reaction forces. 22 Defeat the Device Protection & Mitigation Up Armor Vehicles An add-on armor kit that provides replacement doors and upgrades to the rocker panels/side pillar assemblies for the currently produced M1114 and M1151A1. Funding: Prior FY07: $598.4M Turret Analysis & Interim Gunner Protection Solution Provide survivability and ballistic vulnerability analysis and human factor analysis to evaluate 3 gunner protection kits. Kevlar Spall Liner Kevlar curtain suspended inside HMMWV to help absorb frags and spall resulting from EFP overmatch. Curtain surrounds turret gunner, providing protection to gunner and crew members on opposite side of impact. Funding: FY06: $174K, FY07: $200K Funding: FY07: $300K RTD&E 22

Addresses the capability gap of countering Radio-Controlled IEDs (RCIED).
