Purpose of the workshop will be to exchange information on available technical options to maintain and upgrade ageing tactical fleets, with a special emphasis on employment of aircraft in new (peacekeeping) missions. The aim is to promote adoption by Partners of NATO techniques for the collection, transport and testing of suspected contamined material. Important potential application in humanitarian/civil emergency operations. May be extended to include actual demonstrations of procedures. The purpose of this activity is to agree commonly acceptable civil/military standards for nuclear accident protection, detection and containment for personnel assisting in response to low-level radiation emergencies.
