3 SCIP (Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan) Over-Arching plan for Interoperability in the Commonwealth Written in pages long Available on Mass.gov Contract Firm wrote the SCIP with input from stakeholders across the Commonwealth

4 NECP (National Emergency Communications Plan) Released in Summer 2008 (after SCIP s were written) Identifies National priorities (meaning federal, regional, state, county, and local) SCIP must align with NECP Funding & TA looks to be more focused towards the NECP moving forward. We may begin to see more targeted funding for interoperability, rather than the broader funding we ve seen in the past

23 Interoperable Emergency Communications Grant Program The Planning Grant IECGP An annual grant started in FY 2008 Approximately $1,000, statewide Used to develop programs in line with NECP and SCIP Examples: RIP s, CASM, FOG, etc.

24 Homeland Security Grant Program HSGP An annual grant started in FY 2004 Made up of several DHS grants Part of a larger HS process (not just interoperability) For Interoperability, we have engaged in a regional strategy Allows regions to fund needs specific to their regions.
