BBQ dates have been selected, so be sure to mark your calendars; help is always needed. I am looking forward to the upcoming rifle raffle. Be sure to get tickets, and sell as many as you can. I would like to maximize profits to allow us to do more things for our community and fellow veterans. That being said, I am always looking for new fundraising ideas, so if you have something in mind, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting on February 2 and our upcoming events. As always, remember to bring a Marine. 2 Jr. Vice Commandant s Reminder: To clarify this public service to our members, this is NOT a delinquent list being published. It is a REMINDER to those members that may not have received a renewal notice from National. Renewals are due in the month of the newsletter. This newsletter is for the month of February, so this list is those members whose membership is renewed this month. Those members are: Joshua Wiseman, Jason Bias, Geoff Borlinghaus, Gale E. Conn, A. Stevenson Forsythe, Rick George, Damon C. Rufener and any member who has not renewed. Please send your $30 payment to: PO Box 1592, Jefferson City, Mo or bring to the February 2 meeting. If you have already renewed, please disregard this reminder and thank you very much for your support! Please bring fellow Marines with you to the meetings for possible membership to the League. NOTE: Your Detachment has NOT raised the dues amount. It is still only $30, for renewal (although it is $35, for new membership as National charges a $5 administrative fee). Paymaster Posting: I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped me out this past year. It has been a learning experience. We have got a lot done but still have a ways to go. This is where you can help. It would help that when you receive your dues notice from HQ MCL, to go ahead and pay then even if it is a month or so early. It will not change your membership date. If you are thinking about Life Membership, suggest you sign up 1 to 2 months before your dues are due because of the time frame it takes HQ MCL to process. We are still having trouble with some that were done too late in the past. As stated in our newsletter, our dues are only $30.00, not the $35.00 listed on the notice. If you sent in $35.00, the extra $5.00 went into General Fund. If you would like back, let me know. Sorry, I cannot keep and deduct from next year. Frank Livingston Paymaster Auxiliary s Article: Greetings, Ladies, We have once again postponed our Bunco night until sometime in April or May. A few members volunteered to serve on the Bunco committee, and a meeting will be called soon to get started on planning for it. If anyone has something to give as a gift at Bunco, you may bring it to the next meeting, February 2. Also, until further notice, our monthly auxiliary meeting will be held downstairs in the bunker. We served dinner at the Holts Summit Soup Kitchen on Thursday, January 21 st. We had plenty of food, desserts, and help. Don t forget to always be looking for new members. Keep a membership form with you at all times.

3 I hope to see most of you at the next meeting on February 2 nd. The men are cooking and we will be bringing desserts. New members are always welcomed! I have held the title of United States Marine, and understand the commitment of holding the title, Devil Dog. It is a tradition born at Belleau Wood in the year 1918, of a force in readiness and the "First to Fight". As a Devil Dog, I ask no quarter and give no quarter. I will do everything in my power to uphold the objectives of the Military Order of Devil Dogs and to carry out my duties to a swift and satisfactory completion.
