Roll Call of Officers: Senior Vice Commandant and Junior Vice Commandant excused. Chaplain and Sgt at Arms absent. All others present. Roll Call of Detachments: Lakes Region absent. All others present. A quorum was present. Adjutant report: Frank Saglime made a motion to accept minutes of the 11 June 2017 meeting as published on web site. Tony Dube seconded. No discussion. Motion Passed. Paymaster s report: Check Book Balance Beginning Balance Ending Balance 4/1/17-6/30/17 $4, $6, /1/17-9/22/17 $6, $4, Ending balances: General: $2, Scholarship: $1,065 Assistance: $800 Donations: Motion made by Cody Dumont to donate $500 to the newly formed MCL Foundation disaster aid fund. Chaplain s Report: Final Duty Station: none Ill or distress: Tony Romano and Joe Shea Final duty stations from April 2017 to March 2018 send to Jim so they can be included in Quad State Memorial Service. Committees: Membership report: New members for Granite State and Seacoast Awards: MOY nominations for Joint Installation Committee will be chaired by Dave Dubey. MOY nominations requirements and background handed out by Commandant Monnell. MOY nomination deadline 15 Nov 17.

4 Honors and events: 10 September NHSVC closing ceremony had about 9 members participate in firing detail Scouting: Commandant Monnell handed out certificates Scholarship: Chair Dave Dubey cycle starts at next Department Meeting Old Business: Dues: National is no longer sending out dues notices. 31 August is dues date for national. New Business: DNHMCL Admin Proc #9 which establishes a procedure for detachments who wish to fundraise in another detachments area of coverage. Motion made by Gary Gahan to adopted proc #9. Seconded by Cody Dumont. Motion passed. 990 s need to be done and sent to paymaster Gary Gahan (if ed to Gary then CC Commandant Monnell) Ad for Quad State 2018: motion made to have a full page black and white by Frank Saglime. Seconded by Cody Dumont. Motion passed. Good of The League: Location of 2019 Quad State: Detachments who wish to put in bids must have following information: room rate, handicap accessible rooms, 1 or 2 conference rooms. This must be provided to the committee by the deadline. Deadline will be announced at a later date. Chair Commandant Monnell (non-voting), Cody Dumont, Frank Saglime, Dave Dubey, and Tony Dube. Solicitor: Committee Chair Commandant Monnell, John Cannon, Gary Gahan and Derwood Haskell. DNHMCL has a new webmaster Chris Alberding Quad State 2018: NH providing Firing detail for Memorial Service. 6 Quad State 2019 Requirements for Nomination 50 + rooms, some handicapped, rates Use of conference room, any restrictions, cost, if any, more than 1 Restaurant or tavern location Local spots to see or visit All and any nominations to be voted on at January 14th Quarterly meeting. 7 Board of Trustees Meeting 15 October 2017 Sunday Milford NH - Present: Frank Diekmann Bruce Katz Frank Saglime Gary Gahan Cherie Monnell Solicitor Items Discussed Need for Department to hire Solicitor- Majority of present felt that NH was not big enough nor had the corporate environment to touch-that it would be the private sector and that was not wanted. The above being said Bruce Katz will set up a form letter, asking local (NH) business for their support to be sent out by DNHMCL. Frank Saglime would help with a list (people) to contact. Department Membership & Fundraising There is a BIG need to recruit younger Marines and their families as several detachments are dying out due to older membership and burnt-out members. Moving Quarterly Meetings (4) around Department with a fundraising event after meeting (set up in front of stores with information about MCL) Department (with help from detachments) helping one detachment at a time to setup and person (man) a booth at some event in their area for a recruitment effort. Having a Department Picnic, having a Department Ball, etc. RAFFLES: 1) a 50/50 that would run until Dec $1 a ticket, do not have to be present to win. 2) 50/50 tickets may be earned-1 ticket per Department event attended; Quarterly Meetings, firing details (Dept), work Dept fundraisers & recruitment, BOTs to be used in 50/50 or other Dept raffles at the time. 3) A Department raffle split with detachment, details need to be defined. 4) opening raffles up online with PayPal. Elected Offices Internship to have members learn the elected positions duties and work with elected officers. Each detachment must have a representative at Quarterly meetings Future Events QUAD STATE 2019: 1) each detachment may submit a possible location for Convention in 2019 DATE: April 26, 27, Deadline Jan 10 th to MarineAmazon@comcast.net that your detachment will be present at Jan 14 th Quarterly Meeting to promote your location. Following criteria needed to be presented: rooms (some handicapped), 2. conference room (s) available (cost),

8 3. room charge, 4. lounge/food availability, either on site or walking distance, 5. site seeing or shopping in area 2017 MARINE OF THE YEAR - to be presented at Joint Installation (reminder + procedure sent out to Comm List) Department Awards need detachments or members to nominate, in writing and sent to MarineAmazon@comcast.net deadline- November 15 th 2019 These findings & discussion were done at BOT meeting (Board of Trusteeselected officers + PDC) The BOTs are open to all DNHMCL members to attend & take part in or add to.
