South Street, Warrensburg, MO SUBJECT: Authorization for Wear of Shoulder Sleeve Insignia 1. In accordance with the approved suggested design for the University of Central Missouri shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI), a letter authorizing its wear is enclosed (Encl 1). 2. The following is also enclosed for your use: a. SSI manufacturing drawing (A-10S-212) with black and white line drawing, universal camouflage pattern and operational camouflage pattern. 3. To ensure that insignia is manufactured IAW AR 672-8, please select manufacturers from The Institute of Heraldry s certified list (Encl 2). You will be required to provide one copy of the manufacturing drawing to each manufacturer from whom you are requesting a development bid and production of your insignia. 4. South Street, Warrensburg, MO SUBJECT: Shoulder Sleeve Insignia for the University of Central Missouri, SROTC 1. In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 7-12, AR 145-1, a shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) is authorized for wear by the SROTC cadets attending the University of Central Missouri. The description and symbolism of the design are as follows: DESCRIPTION On a white disc shaped embroidered item, a red stylized head of a mule, teeth, eyes and eye highlights white, with pupils, details, and outlined black; all within a red designation band, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border, the inscription UNIVERSITY OF at the top, and at the bottom CENTRAL MISSOURI in white letters. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter. SYMBOLISM Red and black are the school colors, depicting courage and passion. The mule stands as the school s mascot, symbolizing the pride and spirit of the university.
