1 Ron Walker 3621 W. Forest Skiatook, OK (mobile) August 25, 2016 Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association Treasurer Candidate Selection Committee Dear Selection Committee: Please accept this correspondence as declaration of my intent to continue to serve the MAATA membership and board of directors for a 2 nd term as treasurer. I am confident that my previous service, professional, and educational experiences provide an excellent foundation for serving as a member of the leadership team for our professional organization. I am proud that for the past 2 years I have been fortunate to be able to serve the membership of the MAATA as treasurer. These 2 years have proven to be a steep learning curve, but have also provided many objective accomplishments. As treasurer, I have worked diligently to improve the transparency of membership dues payments, budgets and processes, and meeting budgets. I have instituted electronic payment systems that ensure states receive their dues as quickly and accurately as possible. I have initiated improved accounting systems, pursued incorporation, been heavily involved in financial aspects of the annual meeting, and have strongly advocated that the organization keep a value added membership focus in all expenses. If given the opportunity to serve a 2 nd term, I will continue to address new challenges while exceeding the expectations of the membership and board of directors, my athletic training peers. As evidenced by the attached curriculum vita, my service to local, state, regional, and national organizations, as well as my experiences in a variety of practice settings, has given me the opportunity to develop the attributes that a successful leader must have exceptional communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders. My educational, professional, and service endeavors have provided opportunities for the development of strong analytical skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects while delivering under deadline pressure. I am fully aware of, and understand, the duties and responsibilities of the MAATA treasurer and am confident that I will continue to perform them without hesitation. I am certain that my knowledge, skills, and abilities will continue to provide a valuable asset to the Mid- America Athletic Trainers Association. If you have any reservations or questions regarding my nomination materials, feel free to contact me at any time. I appreciate your careful review of application materials, as well as your service to the district, and am confident in the consideration given to all participants in this process. Genuinely, Enclosure: Vita
