BRINK AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE For contributions to the profession through global service to The IIA WILLIAM G. BISHOP III, CIA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD For impact on the global profession through a lifetime of accomplishments and dedication to The IIA The Institute of Internal Auditors is asking for nominations for its three highest and most prestigious awards. All three awards recognize individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the field of internal auditing. The Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award is given to individuals who have contributed significantly to the advancement of the global profession. The Victor Z. Brink Award for Distinguished Service honors IIA members for their service to The IIA. And the William G. Bishop III, CIA Lifetime Achievement Award honors IIA members who have shown extraordinary leadership and dedication over a lifetime of service to the global profession. Recipients of these awards receive complimentary registration and travel expenses for The IIA s 2016 International Conference, which will be held in New York, NY in July 2016, and special recognition at the conference. They will also receive lifetime honorary membership in The IIA and complimentary registration to future international conferences. You are encouraged to consider carefully the criteria for each award and to recommend worthy candidates for the honor. Nominations should be as complete as possible with detailed information provided on the official form. Attach an additional sheet if necessary. Multiple nominations for the same candidate from different members are permissible, but each must be submitted separately. Nominations are reviewed and judged by a specially-appointed committee. Please note that all forms must be completed in English and returned by February 24, 2017.

2 BRADFORD CADMUS MEMORIAL AWARD The Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award is one of the highest honors or tributes bestowed by The Institute on individuals impacting the internal auditing profession. It was created in 1965 in memory of Bradford Cadmus, the first Managing Director of The Institute, to recognize IIA members or non-members who have made outstanding international contributions in the field of internal auditing. Nominations for the award are considered annually on the basis of nominees' achievements and their contributions to research, education, publications, or other developments and activities in the field of internal auditing. Since 1966, the Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award has been bestowed upon 51 outstanding practitioners, stakeholders, educators or supporters of the profession of internal auditing. Incumbent members of the Executive Committee and the Awards Committee, as well as paid employees of The IIA, are not eligible to receive the award. 3 VICTOR Z. BRINK AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE The Board of Directors of The Institute of Internal Auditors established the award in the original Bylaws of The Institute to recognize individuals who have given outstanding and exceptional service to the profession of internal auditing through participation in the global activities of The Institute of Internal Auditors. This award was called the Honorary Member Award by the first Bylaws, later the Distinguished Service Award, and now the Victor Z. Brink Award for Distinguished Service. Brink was one of the original founders of The Institute and a renowned auditor, educator, author, lecturer, and advocator of the profession until his death in Only IIA members are eligible to receive the award. Members of the Executive Committee, excluding the Past Chairman retiring from the Executive Committee; members of the Awards Committee; and employees of The Institute shall not be eligible to receive the award. Nominations will be judged based on the member s or members service to The Institute on an international level, particularly in such areas as recognized contributions as an IIA leader; influence on membership growth or certification; contributions to educational deliverables for the profession; or contributions to the growth of our chapters and institutes. Accomplishments should extend beyond contributions to a particular chapter or Institute. There is no obligation to make the award in any year. With the intent to recognize truly distinguished service by IIA members, no more than two awards can be made in a single year. Previous Recipients - Victor Z. 4 WILLAM G. BISHOP III, CIA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD The Institute s Board of Directors formally established the William G. Bishop III, CIA Lifetime Achievement award in December 2004 to recognize individual members who, through a lifetime of accomplishments and dedication to The Institute, have impacted the international practice of internal auditing, advanced the awareness of The IIA, and inspired professionals around the world to make a difference in our profession and in the organizations we serve. The award was presented informally three times before its formal establishment and twice since: In 2000 to Lawrence B. Sawyer, recognized worldwide as the father of modern internal auditing. In 2002 to Mortimer Dittenhofer, recognized for his lifetime promotion of internal auditing in government and education. In 2004 to William G. Bishop III (posthumously), for his impact on the global profession culminating from his 12 years as IIA president. In 2008 to William L. Taylor for his extraordinary leadership and dedication over a lifetime of service to the global profession of internal auditing and The IIA. In 2016 to Patricia K. Miller, recognized for her extraordinary leadership and dedication to the profession as practitioner, volunteer, speaker, instructor, author and mentor to scores of young professionals. The award is open to members of The Institute who have shown extraordinary leadership and dedication over a lifetime of service to the global profession and to The IIA. Members must be well-known and well-respected globally, and must have had a major impact on the development or the furthering of the profession. While not required, members may have already received other prestigious awards of The IIA, e.g., the Bradford Cadmus Memorial Award or the Victor Z. Brink Award for Distinguished Service. It is anticipated that the award will be given infrequently. Candidates should be near the end of their careers in internal auditing (or related fields) and near the end of their active involvement with The IIA.
