3 ERASMUS+ GENERAL OBJECTIVE The aim of Erasmus+ is to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion, as well as the aims of ET2020, the EU's strategic framework for education and training. Erasmus+ also aims to promote the sustainable development of its partners in the field of higher education, and contribute to achieving the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy. 3
4 ERASMUS+ GENERAL OBJECTIVE Specific issues tackled by the programme include: o Reducing unemployment, especially among young people o Promoting adult learning, especially for new skills and skills required by the labour market. o Encouraging young people to take part in European democracy o Supporting innovation, cooperation and reform o Reducing early school leaving o Promoting cooperation and mobility with the EU's partner countries 4

18 KEY ACTION 2 Strategic Partnerships EUROPEAN PRIORITIES To be funded, Strategic Partnerships must address either: at least one horizontal priority ou at least one field-specific priority relevant to the field of education, training and youth that is mostly impacted 18
19 KEY ACTION 2 Strategic Partnerships Horizontal priorities (Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2016) Improving achievement in relevant and high-level basic and transversal competences in a lifelong learning perspective (i.e. entrepreneurial spirit, digital and/or linguistic skills). Supporting inclusive education, training and youth (in line with the Paris Declaration) and/or projects focussing on the topic of the refugees' crisis in Europe. Mainstreaming and spreading the utilisation of open and innovative education, training and youth pedagogies, participatory education governance, work methods and resources for educators and learners at all levels, in particular those in a disadvantaged situation. Promoting the use of ICT as a driver for systemic change to increase the quality and relevance of education, training and youth policies at all levels. Contributing to transparency and recognition of skills and qualifications to facilitate learning, employability and labour mobility. Supporting sustainable investment, performance and efficiency in education and training 19

Addressing underachievement in the basic skills of maths, science and literacy Enhancing the quality of early childhood education and care Strengthening the profile of the teaching professions. Promoting work-based learning in all its forms. Further developing quality assurance mechanisms in VET. Further strengthening key competences in VET curricula. Enhancing access to training and qualifications for all through C-VET. 20

Strengthening quality through mobility and cross-border cooperation. Promoting the development of new modes of delivery and exploiting and responding to new technologies in learning and teaching. Improving and extending the offer of high quality learning opportunities that are tailored to individual adult learners needs. Extending and developing educators competences, particularly in the effective use of IT in adult learning. Designing and implementing effective provision for enhancing the basic skills and key competences of specific adult target groups. 21
22 KEY ACTION 2 Strategic Partnerships EXAMPLE OF PROJECTS IN THE CULTURAL FIELD LOOKING FOR A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE BY MEANS OF PERFORMING ARTS Sector: School education Coordinator: Ecole Privée Fieldgen Duration of project: 24 months (September 2014 August 2016) The objective of the project is to find a universal language based on original forms of communication and to overcome linguistic borders. Dramatic language as language in general has a symbolic function; thus, dramatic performances offer to young people the opportunity to develop competences that will promote communication. They favour social emancipation and a better acceptance of social and cultural differences. 22
23 KEY ACTION 2 Strategic Partnerships EXAMPLE OF PROJECTS IN THE CULTURAL FIELD LA CULTURE AU SERVICE DE LA RÉUSSITE Sector: School education Coordinator: SCRIPT Innovation et Agence Qualité Duration of project: 12 months (September 2016 August 2017) Ce projet propose une approche innovante de l'apprentissage, en direction notamment des élèves les plus fragilisés, en combinant l usage des nouvelles technologies à la méthode du nourrissage culturel démarche qui prend appui sur la culture et les supports culturels en général afin de permettre de révéler la diversité culturelle, sociale, ethnique, linguistique, etc. des élèves. 23

25 HOW TO APPLY The application must be sent to the National Agency of the Programme Country where the coordinating organization is established. List of NAs: To submit an Erasmus+ project, applicants must follow the four steps described below: Each organisation involved in the application must register in the Participant Portal and receive a Participant Identification Code (PIC); Check the compliance with the Programme criteria for the relevant Action/field; Check the financial conditions; Fill in and submit the electronic application form (eform). 25
