CHANGE OF PERSONAL DETAILS Should the personal details of the student change after registrations, the College must be notified in writing immediately. The learner is liable to visit Student Administration and notify the change. This will result in the change of the proof of registration and the student should sign in agreement to the change of his/her details. 5. CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION Cancellation should be done in writing at the Student Administration office. In order to qualify for a refund, a student needs to cancel the course before or on the deadline date for cancellations (as indicated on the year plan). A R50 cancellation fee is payable. After the cancellation date, refundable class fees will be calculated on a pro rata basis and this should be finalised before the commencement of the examination. 6. SUBJECT CHANGES Subject changes will take place on the dates specified by the academic head (s, Time and Venue will be on notice boards). AFTER THESE DATES, NO SUBJECT CHANGES WILL BE DONE. All subject changes should be done in writing on the prescribed form. The Academic Head should sign the proposed subject change. The forms must be submitted to Student Administration. Handing in a subject change form does not mean the subjects are changed, Please ensure that the subjects are changed by signing a new proof of registration. STUDENTS MUST UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THEIR REGISTRATIONS ARE DONE ON TIME AND CORRECTLY. 7. SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATIONS A student must obtain 30% or more in the external examination to be allowed to register for a supplementary examination. If less than 30% is obtained, the subject must be repeated. No more than TWO (2) subjects may be supplemented in an examination. Each student is allowed only two (2) supplementary examinations in a specific subject before the subject must be repeated on a full time or part time basis. Discount (10%) will be given on full course registrations (full time only - 4 subjects). 8. STUDENT DISCOUNT Discount (10% on class fees) will be given on full course registrations (full time only - 4 subjects). Discounts will be forfeited if full payment is not received by dates specified on registrations. 2

I hereby undertake towards Flavius Mareka TVET College 1.1 To subject myself to the rules and regulations of the College, and to any amendments thereof. To pay tuition fees for the course for which I have enrolled and understand that I shall not be entitled to a refund of any fees paid by me or to a remission of fees due by me, but that the College Council may consider the refund or remission of such fees on a basis determined by them in the following cases: On his/her death. If, as a result of his/her illness, he/she is unable to continue with or to complete the course, provided that such inability is confirmed by a medical certificate. If he/she is transferred to another centre through no fault of his/hers. If, for any reason, the College is unable to continue to provide the course 2. Endorse and confirm 2.1 That it is my duty to acquaint myself with the rules and general regulations applicable to the course that I am registered for 3. In addition agree as follows with the College 3.1 The College is indemnified against any claim that I may have in future arising from any injuries sustained and/or damage suffered as a result of any occurrence, event, accident, injury, illness or death, howsoever arising, or as a result of my participation in any tour, outing, excursion, visit or transport occurring during my period of study at the College. I accept that I participate in the activities above at my own risk and voluntarily accept the risk in this regard. 3.2 Accept full responsibility for the payment of all money claimed or levied by the College in connection with my studies and authorise the College to claim interest on all amounts not duly paid on the prescribed dates against the current prime bank rate on a fluctuating basis. I further confirm that, should I fail to pay any amount claimed from me timeously, all amounts owed to the College shall become payable immediately, and that the amount of my liability and the interest rate applicable thereto may be proved by means of a certificate signed by the Director or his representative. 3.3 In case of outstanding balances on my account, all results and certificates will be withheld by the College. 3.4 Further agree that, should it be necessary for the College to take legal action against me resulting from this agreement, I shall be liable for legal costs on the relevant scale as between attorney and client % class attendance is imperative for all students. 3.6 To notify the Debtor s Manager in writing, should I suspend my studies in whole. 11 PART VII CODE OF CONDUCT 1. A LEARNER AT THIS COLLEGE WILL REFRAIN FROM THE FOLLOWING OFFENCES:- a. Bribery, blackmail, fraud, dishonesty and theft or removal of College property. b. Damage to and tampering with or wasting of the property of the College, staff or fellow students. c. Failure to report an accident and/or damage to College property d. Being in possession of pornographic or repugnant literature. e. Assault or any attempts at assaulting another person. f. Engaging in dangerous games g. The unauthorised removal of safety shields or safety equipment and/or signs and not adhering to these in any way. h. Neglecting to observe safety precautions and/or wear protective clothing. i. Unauthorised learner action, boycott of lectures or learner activities. j. Victimisation and/or intimidation of fellow learners to commit any form of violence or disruption of classes. k. Unauthorised use of College transport or negligent use thereof. l. Unauthorised use of College property. m. Arrogant, aggressive and disrespectful behavior towards superiors and peers. n. Refusal to complete instructions o. Negligent or insufficient completion of assignments. p. Violation of College procedures and standing instructions. q. Loitering on College premises during lectures. r. Attending lectures without the prescribed textbooks, writing material and/or other equipment. s. Not being properly dressed in accordance to the dress code. t. Gambling or money lending for profit on College premises. u. Using vulgar, discriminatory and/or offensive language on College premises. 2. THE POSSESSION and USE OF THE FOLLOWING IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN ON THE COLLEGE GROUNDS: a. Narcotic substances b. Liquor c. Dangerous weapons d. Being under the influence of Narcotic Substances and Liquor The college has the right to, at any time, without warning to order a search for illegal substances by the staff, security, police or the Narcotics Bureau of SA 3. PUNCTUAL ATTENDANCE OF THE FOLLOWING IS COMPULSORY: a. Theoretical classes, with relevant text books and writing equipment b. Practical classes. c. Placement/observation appointments. d. Remedial/referral appointments. 4. A year mark of not less than 40 % per subject before admission to the examination is compulsory. 5. Cellular phones must be switched off during classes/examinations. 6. Being convicted of any criminal offence in a Court of Law whilst enrolled as a student at this College might result in immediate suspension. 7. If a learner is found guilty of any of the above offences, he or she will be dealt with in terms of the College policy framework. 8. If a learner is found guilty of any examination irregularity, he/she will be dealt with according to the Departmental examination prescriptions 9.
