1 HINCHINGBROOKE NHS TRUST NURSE RECRUITMENT EVENT Hinchingbrooke NHS TRUST Nurse Recruitment Event Permanent Vacancies 2016 HINCHINGBROOKE NHS TRUST RECRUITING NURSES IN GENERAL MEDICAL & SURGICAL WARDS APPLY TODAY: Hinchingbrooke NHS Trust Working in partnership with Primary Care Recruitment Ltd Hinchingbroooke NHS Trust Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust is a district general hospital, providing health care for the people of Huntingdonshire and surrounding areas. More than 160,000 people rely on our hospital for a range of services and we are renowned locally for our warm and friendly approach to health care. On 31 March 2015, private company Circle withdrew from the operating franchise under which they had managed Hinchingbrooke for three years. The hospital returned to NHS management on 1 April 2015 and is regulated by the NHS Trust Development Authority. At Hinchingbrooke, we put our patients at the heart of everything we do any patient coming to us for treatment should feel confident that they will receive high quality, safe care. We recently published our first Patient Experience Strategy which embodies our commitment to providing patient centred care and will guide how we put patient experience at the heart of everything we do. Hinchingbrooke Hospital is a modern purpose-built building opened in 1983, although some departments moved here from the Huntingdon County Hospital several years before. We provide a wide range of specialities, some in conjunction with Addenbrooke s and Peterborough hospitals. Patients can access a wide range of specialities, including General Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology, Vascular, Plastics, Breast Surgery and Gynaecology. Our hospital has 304 beds, as well as 23 cabins located in the Treatment Centre, a 22 million unit which opened in The Mulberry Suite is available for private patients. Hospital Services Hinchingbrooke has 223 beds, including 24 specifically for day cases, alongside 23 cabins located in the Treatment Centre, the 22million unit which opened in November There are also an additional 9 beds in Critical Care. The hospital has a 1.2million Medical Assessment Unit. There are also facilities for private patients, which contributes to the hospital s income. The Huntingdon NHS Treatment Centre opened its doors to its first patients in It is a state of the art facility for day case and 23- hour stay surgery. The Treatment Centre now operates 90% of Hinchingbrooke s Outpatient Clinics and nearly all surgery with an expected stay of less than 48 hours is booked into the centre. The Hospital s 6million Emergency Care Centre, opened in 2006 and benefits from new computer technology, ensuring there is now no backlog in notifying GPs of an attendance in A&E. The Hinchingbrooke Hospital site is also home to a new 7.4m children s unit, run by Cambridgeshire PCT. The Trust has undergone a major ward upgrade programme, which has had a major and positive impact on patient experience. Each bay is equipped with ensuite facilities to increase the amount of toilet and wash areas for patients. The modern facilities will aid Hinchingbrooke s excellent record with regard to hospital acquired infections, allowing for the isolation of individual bays and increased hand washing points Hinchingbrooke healthcare NHS Trust are currently recruiting Nurses in September our dedicated recruitment consultant today to get a copy of our comprehensive Interview preparation pack. 2 2 Nursing in Hinchingbrooke NHS TRUST Be a part of something special. A highly skilled, motivated, diverse, productive and patient focused workforce. Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust is no ordinary NHS hospital. We look different, feel different, and act different. And, thanks to our unique partnership with Circle, we have all of the experience and expertise of our NHS heritage, backed up by the innovation and ambition of our Circle partners. Working with Hinchingbrooke Whether you want to be a Nurse, Consultant, or part of the vital network of professionals who support the infrastructure and environment needed to provide the best patient care, when you join Hinchingbrooke you re part of a family. That s the beauty of a hospital like ours we re big enough to strive to be the best, small enough to care, and dedicated to your continued development and support. What makes Hinchingbrooke so different? The answer is, we put our people in the driving seat, giving them the opportunity to instigate change. Our executive board is made up of nine practicing clinicians, elected by their peers and supported by four managers. These clinical leads are each responsible for a clinical divisional unit and are accountable for their own budget and their team, reducing the gap between our Board and our frontline staff. Not only this, our organisation s vision was written by our people, and it was our people that set our goal to become a top ten district general hospital in fact they wanted us to be number one. To make their vision a reality, 1200 of our staff came together to shape our business plan and we captured their ideas under four simple headings: clinical outcomes, patient experience, value for money and engaged staff. And so, our 16 point plan was born, a simple pocket-sized guide to realising our goals. You can read it here. 3 HINCHINGBROOKE NHS TRUST NURSE RECRUITMENT EVENT 3 LONDON UNDERGROUND Travelling Huntingdon has great links to cities across the UK via road, rail and bus. LOCATION FACTS 30 minutes from London central by train 3 main UK Airports within 1hr & 30 mins drive: Luton, Stansted and Birmingham FOR MORE INFORMATION VISIT ug/16/homes Living in Huntingdon Huntingdon is a historic market town, with a rich history, being the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell. The town and the district has the beautiful River Great Ouse, historic buildings (including Hinchingbrooke House), fine dining, good pubs, and superb parks Hinchingbrooke Park is visited by people from across the region. With a population of around 20,000 people Huntingdon is a rapidly- developing area experiencing real economic growth. Regular events in and around the town include Farmers markets, traditional and European markets and galas throughout the year. Transport Links Situated between Cambridge and Peterborough, there are great links to cities across the UK via road, rail and bus. Huntingdon is linked to the North, and London via the A14. Huntingdon s train station is located on the main train line between London and Edinburgh, with trains travelling to London Kinds Cross twice roughly every 30 minutes and approximately 1 hour, making it a reasonable commute. Huntingdon is also accessible via regular bus services to and from the town, to surrounding areas. The recent introduction of the Guided buses has led to improvements in service between Huntingdon, St Ives and Cambridge. If you are looking to travel further afield, there are three international airports nearby. Luton, Stansted and Birmingham are all within a 90 minute drive. Hinchingbrooke also has decently priced housing and very good rail connections. London is only 50 minutes away by train, and drive down the A14 and Cambridge is 20 minutes away, so with the average house price a tad under 240,000, it makes the town a better bet than most of its overpriced neighbouring towns. Well connected As above. The A1 and A1(M) just up the road, too. Trains to King's Cross, two to five an hour, mins; to Peterborough, two an hour, 20 mins. Schools Huntingdon Junior and Cromwell Park are both well above national average in English, maths and science. Hinchingbrooke is regarded as the pick of the secondaries Where to buy The commuter detacheds are the real bargain hunt for these in Hartford and the expanding villages, such as Great Stukeley, which are becoming little more than suburbs. The historic centre is small, but there are decent

4 4 period terraces and town houses around Ermine Street and Great Northern Street, in the conservation area and close to the allimportant station, plus a nice enclave of Victorian terraces around Hartford Road. Market values Large modern four-bed detacheds for 225, ,000 are the real bargain for commuters. Super-posh five- or six-bed executive detacheds, up to 340,000. Semis, 180, ,000. Terraces, from 125,000 modern, 155,000 period. Flats, one-bed from 115,000. Bargain of the week Three-bed, modern-ish mid-terrace in need of modernisation, 110,000, with Malcolms ( ). Eating Out Lots of nice places to eat nearby include The Bridge (Chinese) in Godmanchester, The Cock in Hemingford, The Barn in Pidley and The Crown in Broughton. The town centre is not pretty, although they are spending money to improve it (and nearby Godmanchester is attractive, as are most of the surrounding villages which are great for weekend walks). It's got a Waitrose, an M&S food, Brampton pie shop and nice independent coffee shops. Hang out at... The Old Bridge hotel for splashing out on your birthday - lovely terrace and veranda for G&Ts. "Worth putting your high heels on for," says local Cheryl Alder. Or Pop Bellies for lazy weekend breakfasts, says resident Louise Flanagan. Walkabouts Grafham Water and Rutland Water are close for fishing and boating, and there's a good, big nature reserve in St Neots Developing your potential Hinchingbrooke we believe that our people are our greatest asset and that excellent health care can only be achieved by an equally excellent team. We aim to help you find your potential, and support you in achieving excellence. We strongly believe that well trained and motivated employees play a vital role in helping us achieve our goal of becoming one of the country s top performing district general hospitals. 6 6 Testimonials From our Nurses in UK Trusts Finally have a read of what some of our past successful candidates currently working in the UK have to say about their experiences working in a UK Trust, settling into their new lives in England, and the recruitment process. Name: Chiara, Astarita Occupation: General Medical Nurse at a London NHS Hospital Even though I didn t even know of the existence of PCR till May, in a few weeks I m going to move to London to work as a nurse in a NHS hospital. During the first meeting in May the staff explained that the chance to work abroad is closer than it seems. The Open Day in June was for a first selection, as a basic knowledge of English is a good point to start. In the following weeks the English course gave me and my mates the possibility to really speak English. That was very useful and helped to gain selfconfidence. The staff members I met (Alessandra, Mirjana and Jennie) put us at ease and helped to prepare for the interview. They gave us material, suggested what position apply for (according to work and training background) and what to highlight, so that when the interview was over I felt it was easier than I expected. Name: Filippo Belmonte Occupation: General Medical Nurse at a London NHS Hospital Honestly, I was skeptical about the idea of being selected by an English hospital, starting with a basic language level, but thanks to PCR and Porta Futuro, I will work in future as a scrub nurse in London. For no costs, PCR provided teachers, nurses and all their staff to prepare us to overcome the interview. PCR organized a 6 weeks free English course and continuous Skype sessions until the date of the interview. After the interviews, they supported us, giving us all the information needed. I feel lucky for choosing PCR, because without their help, I do not know if I would have been able to overcome all the difficulties How to Apply So do you want to work in a friendly, professional and supportive organization officially ranked as one of the best hospitals to work for in the country? If you re interested in being interviewed for Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust, Primary Care Recruitment will be hosting live & Skype interviews throughout every month of 2016 We will be interviewing on behalf of Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust for Nurses in the following fields.
