4 Create a Unified Vision Raising the Barn Unit based CNSs met to form the vision Incorporate Unit based Nurse Educators Changed from a my unit to our organization Vision: The Clinical Practice Innovations Council (CPIC) is a Nursing committee formed for the purpose of promoting, leading, and supporting evidence based quality improvement initiatives, educate/mentor staff on evidence-based practice, quality improvement and research, in alignment with Corporate and Nursing Strategic Goals at Northwest Community Healthcare Work Towards a Common Goal Align our goals within the organization, nursing and complex patient care. Team Goals: High Quality Care as Evidenced by Clinical Outcomes Action Plans: Drive and integrate unit and organizational quality outcomes Provide CNS representation on corporate committees Create a method for collaboration among the APNs and Clinical Nurse Educators CPIC as Change Agents Example Mock Code Blue All units have codes (system) Vision: increase confidence and quality in Code situations Goal: Annual Mock Codes for each inpatient unit Continuous evaluation of sessions 4

Pharmacy savings >$12,000 with elimination of IV flush bag requirement. Patient Education Resource standardization providing continuity across system with EMMI. Mock Code Blue increased confidence in staff performance and improvement in compression rates. Bar Code Medication Scanning Compliance Rate sustained at > 97%.
