1 2015 SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA COMMUNITY HEALTH CARE CENTER During this year the clinic has been promoting Health Education in several ways HEALTH EDUCATION Drama Programs : a good and attractive way to communicate about domestic violence Community Health Workers (CHW) Hari Om Mishra Health Educator for 8 years and Soni the nurse for 3 years trained the CHW for 6 months. One year they supported 2647 people in villages with the first Aid Box we provided. Dental Awarness at Maitreya School
2 Adolescent Groups Health Education is very important for them as it impacts their future. At Root Institute we give them the opportunity to meet international visitors to expand their view of the world. Mountain Dashrath Manjhi "Test your motivation" was the purpose of the trip for the adolescents boys group who visited the place known as 'Mountain Man'. This place is very well known in Bihar. It is named after Dasrath Manjhi, a poor villager who made the decison "to cut" the mountain when his wife unexpectedly died to reduce the number of untimely deaths in his village. It took him 22 years to make a large path through the mountain and hence he is called the 'Mountain Man.' Health Educator Hari Om wanted the adolescent boys to realize the importance of having such a strong, courageous and positive motivation. Women Health Education Our nurse and female Health Educator have been communicating about hygiene, contraception and pregnancy to the adolescent girls and women at the clinic and in the villages.
3 New Health Education Office Because of their hard work the number of people the Health Educators are serving has grown. To accomodate the growing demand we decided to expand the Health Education Office space. Window for Reception Area Reception Area now has a window to protect the receptionist Rajesh Kumar and the patients from wind, sun and rain. PATIENTS Blood Pressure Check Up Camps (BPCUC) Prevention in Bihar is very important, it is certainly the best "medication". 8% of the patients who were checked during the BPCUC, who were over 40 years old had high blood pressure. We successfully treated them all with homeopathic medicine in 3 months. Sumran Kumari Due to your kindness and generosity we were able to successfully treat Sumran, who underwent 40 chemotherapies. She is currently doing very well.
4 Kiran Kumari Six year old Kiran Kumari came with her mum in February 2015 for the first time. She had a hole in her heart with some complications. After many visits to hospitals in Patna and Delhi, our doctors made the decision to perform an open heart surgery in Jeevak Heart Hospital & Research Institute, in Patna. Root Instiutue did a lot or prayers and pujas for her. Her surgery was scheduled on September 18th. Everything went well. Kiran is fine now and she comes regularly for a check-up! >April 2015 Kiran with her parents Kiran after her sugery Nov 2015 Diabetic Patients The number of our insulin patients increased by 42%. They stayed at our inpatient hospital to receive treatment. HIV Patients The HIV patients also increased by 32%. They too received treatment at our inpatient hospital. Dental Clinic Camp We organised a dental clinic camp in December. 43 patients were checked during the course of one day!
