8 About the Authors Kim Fraser Registered Nurse, Master Community Health Practice (Honours), Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), Associate Diploma Community Health Nursing (Child and Family Health) Kim has more than 17 years experience in community health and child health nursing in a variety of settings including rural, regional and urban areas. Kim worked as a child health nurse at the Gold Coast Health Service District from 1999 to 2004 and was instrumental in developing, implementing and evaluating Fun not Fuss with Food within the Gold Coast Health Service District. Kim was the project manager completing the updated 2004 edition of this resource. Lyza Norton Bachelor of Science, Master of Nutrition and Dietetics Lyza has more than eight years experience in the area of nutrition. She currently works as a paediatric dietitian in both hospital and community settings within the Gold Coast Health Service District. Her particular area of interest is early intervention and prevention programs with a focus on paediatric nutrition. Lyza regularly facilitates Fun not Fuss with Food workshops within the Gold Coast Health Service District. Lyza provided expert paediatric nutrition input to the development and review of this resource. Jane Morgan Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), Post-Graduate Diploma of Professional Psychology, Completing Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) Jane has more than five years experience in child and family psychology. She currently works as a psychologist for Community Child Health, Gold Coast Health Service District assisting children and their families presenting with a range of behavioural, emotional and developmental difficulties. Her areas of interest are the treatment of anxiety disorders, and early intervention and prevention programs for children and their families. Jane regularly facilitates parenting programs, including the Fun not Fuss with Food workshops within the Gold Coast Health Service District. Jane provided expert psychological input to the development and review of this resource. vii
9 Judy Kirkwood Bachelor of Applied Science, Graduate Diploma Nutrition and Dietetics, Master of Medical Science Judy has more than 15 years experience in nutrition and health promotion in a variety of public settings within Queensland Health (statewide, pubic health units, districts and hospital levels) and the University of Queensland. Judy has been involved in the development and coordination of a range of food and nutrition initiatives including Lighten Up to a Healthy Lifestyle Program, the Healthy Weight Program, Creating a Healthier Queensland Workshops, and Growing Strong: Feeding You and Your Baby Resources and Training. Judy is currently a Senior Public Health Nutritionist based at the Darling Downs Public Health Unit. In this public health role, Judy has supported the further dissemination of Fun not Fuss with Food beyond the Gold Coast. As the mother of two young children, Judy is particularly keen to support initiatives such as Fun not Fuss with Food that promote healthy and enjoyable eating for young children and their families. Judy provided input to the overall design of this resource and in particular, contributed to the further development of the evaluation section. viii
