3 Hamad Medical Corporation ( HMC) Largest non-profit healthcare organization in the State of Qatar Provides approximately 90% of acute services to the country Eight hospitals & the National Ambulance Service and Home Healthcare Service

6 Department of Laboratory and Medical Pathology(DLMP) The main reference laboratory in Qatar has more than 29 sections, around 700 technical staff including medical and administrative staff. DLMP has strong partnership with Universities in Qatar, resulting in majority of the staff being from these institutions
7 Traditional POCT Simple Glucometers, spread across HMC Hospitals. Blood gases under random Quality Control. Urine Strips used to monitor thousand of women without any validation Chemistry Laboratory were voluntarily sending staff on monthly basis for checking and reviewing Yearly Training of one day for all POCT devices
8 NO POCT Section Simple training manual from manufacturer Any unit can purchase POCT devices No proper training/ no job description for Coordinators No real point from where how to control test performed outside laboratory / No proper documentation, No Standaraziation.
9 Journey Start Up Early 2009 When new specialty hospital raised Small Committees were formed (lab+ Physcian +IT+ Nurse +engineer ) to discuss the need & requirements POCT devices + IT middleware was selected Two staff assigned as POCC. Vendor provide a big sheet to fill the need

Setting Reference Ranges of different test designations according to clinical setting of patient category!!!!!!
17 Standardization Across HMC Starting from March Installation of new middleware AegiesPOC Open system with different instruments /machines from Nova, Roche,Siemens,& ITC. Using standardized approach in training within CAP checklist for different end users of Nursing staff, Technicians, Respiratory Therapist & Perfussionist.
18 Blood gas Radiometer ABL 90 2 nd middle ware was AQURE and chosen to connect all blood gases Radiometers ABL 90 across different hospitals Currently we have 40 blood gases in service connected to AQURE
