1 Medically Fragile. Handled with Care.
2 A place like no other. Located in Kosair Charities Center on Masonic Homes 82-acre Louisville campus, Sproutlings is 13,000 sq. ft. of happy, inviting space. Our services and resources focus on meeting the medical, developmental, physical, nutritional and social needs of children who require continuous therapeutic or skilled nursing supervision: On-site nursing care provided by our staff of registered nurses and certified nursing assistants Occupational, speech and physical therapies provided by a local therapy group 6,000-sq.-ft. enclosed, outdoor playground designed for both ambulatory and wheelchairbound students Indoor fully accessible play area Nutritional care to meet individual dietary needs While Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) centers provide non-residential nursing care to children who are prescribed this care by a physician, Sproutlings is the only PPEC center in the region that integrates children of all abilities. We serve medically eligible children starting at 6 weeks of age. Sproutlings provides a less-restrictive alternative to institutionalization and gives parents the peace of mind of knowing their children are well cared for in a safe environment.
3 One big happy and healthy family. Sproutlings Pediatric Day Care & Preschool provides an extraordinary environment where all children can feel cared for, comfortable, safe and stimulated. It s also a place where parents can feel at ease and confident in the care their children receive.
4 Skilled nursing services Skilled nursing 3:1 ratio Ventilator/trach management including suctioning, oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments Gtube feeding and care Apnea monitoring Central line and port care Ostomy management Medication administration Developmentally appropriate activities Bladder catheterization and irrigation VP shunt monitoring Seizure intervention and management Skilled assessment and emergency protocols An individualized protocol of care is developed for each child, in consultation with the physician and other professionals, to guide Sproutlings staff.
