2 11/9/2017 How to give testimony tip sheet 1. Sign up sheet at the hearing a. Speakers are taken in order of first come first served b. Legislators, state agency staff and invited speakers are allowed to testify first 2. Arrive early 3. Clearly introduce yourself and state who you are and who you represent 4. Make your testimony compelling b. Identify your concerns and how you think the legislators can help c. Try not to read from the script d. Have your script there if needed but simply speak from your heart covering the main points e. Answer questions f. Bring written summaries of your testimony g. Have a longer version of your testimony that you can leave with representatives and prepare 20 copies to distribute h. Be respectful! 7. Get organized and bring your supporters 2

Feel free to search these sites for information that will support your position. According to Gallup nurses are the most trusted (honest/ethical) profession and garner a lot of attention with this debate. Hospitals plea further loss of margins (only carry 3% margin now) and that quality of care is not suffering anyway this is a solution without a problem Take a look at both the support and opposition for this issue do you have a middle ground or a solution that would work for all be creative!!! 8 s_2_1_.pdf Licensure Compact Tele medicine, Tele health, E ICU s and global care coordination have all made this issue real. The old way of licensing nurses no longer fits new and emerging care models and yet labor unions resist changes as it threatens local control of the workforce. The biggest fear is that there will be an unfettered influx of nurses from compact states easily entering during a work stoppage. Understanding the economic drivers that are the underpinnings of this issue as well as organized labor s fears of will help in devising good public policy. What would you do? There are valid points on all sides of this debate. It is critical for both sides to understand the issues so good policy can be enacted. The user inhales the vapor. Using e cigarettes is often called vaping. The fluid in the e cigarette is usually made of nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerine, and flavorings. Concerns have been raised that the focus or e cigarettes is young adults and teens Minnesota statute allows a town board or the governing body of a home rule charter or statutory city may license and regulate the retail sale of tobacco, tobacco related devices, and electronic delivery devices
