2 2 PRTNERSHIP 1) Is there active engagement from the school's overnors, SLT, middle leaders and staff? 2) Does the school have an identified single point of contact (SPOC) in relation to Prevent? From pril - Extremist behaviour is now an agenda item for discussion at the weekly SLT meeting. From all risk assessments for off site visits to be assessed under the frame work of the Prevent Duty by the roup Leader and the EVC. Near miss documents to record any instances of concern. 3 6 SFETY ONLINE 1) Does the school have a policy relating to the use of IT and does it contain a specific reference and inclusion of the Prevent Duty? 2) Does the school employ filtering/firewall systems to prevent staff/students/visitors from accessing extremist websites and material? 3) Does this also include the use of using their own devices via Wi-Fi? 4) Can the system be used to search for serious and/or repeated breaches or attempted breaches of the policy? 7 PRYER ND FITH FCILITIES 1) Does the school have prayer facilities? 2) How is the use of the prayer room monitored? Is it enforced? 3) re dangerous substances kept and stored on the school site? 4) Is there a policy in place to manage the storage, transport, handling and audit of such substances? 5) Is there a policy covering the distribution (including electronic) of leaflets or other publicising material? 6) Does the school intervene where off site activities are identified or are likely to impact upon staff and/or students i.e. leafleting, protest etc? National, statutory safeguarding measures have been adpted and implemented by the school. Safeguarding procedures quality assured during the recent B11 inspection. ll dangerous substances are controlled by the Science/Technology technicians and caretaking staff. 4 assessed under the frame work of the Prevent Duty and each risk assessment will be quality assured by the Deputy Headteacher 9 SFEURDIN 1) Is protection against the risk of radicalisation and extremism included within Safeguarding and other relevant policies? 2) Do Safeguarding and welfare staff receive additional and ongoing training to enable the effective understanding and handling of referrals relating to radicalisation and extremism? 3) Does the school utilise Channel as a support mechanism in cases of radicalisation and extremism? 4) Does the school have a policy regarding referral to Channel identifying a recognised pathway and threshold for referral? 10 COMMUNICTIONS 1) Is the school s Prevent Lead and their role widely known across the school? 2) re staff and students made aware of the Prevent Duty, current risks and appropriate activities in this area? 3) re there information sharing protocols in place to facilitate information sharing with Prevent partners? 5 the SLT. 14 EXTREMIST ROUPS IN THE COMMUNITY Is the school aware of the existence of extremist groups in the community and their potential impact on its staff and students? re regular briefings organised with the local Police Prevent Leads in order to exchange information about the potential for radicalisation among the school s staff and students? July In an initial meeting with the PCSO the school was advised of small scale anti-semitic activity within Scarborough. PCSO advised the school to be on guard for any anti-semitic graffiti. The police are following leads of enquiry but none of these are linked with families for the school s students. There is English defence League representation on the Barrowcliffe Estate. This activity has been limited to leafleting and there have been no rallies or marches in the town. gain there are no links to the school s students at this stage. M July
