1 Board Innovation Grants Request for Applications: Board Innovation Grants Project Registration Deadline: February 1, 2018 Application Deadline: February 16, 2018 San Bernardino City Unified School District awards grants to support innovative initiatives that align with the Community Engagement Plan and hold promise for positively impacting one or more key performance indicators. The District anticipates awarding 1,500,000 in grants (750,000 from LCAP, and 750,000 from LCAP) to support projects beginning in July This Request for Applications (RFA) contains all criteria for grant awards and instructions for applying to receive a Board Innovation Grant. This is a competitive opportunity. The number of grant awards will depend on the quality and quantity of applications received. SBCUSD reserves the right to award less than the anticipated award budget noted above. Please review this RFA thoroughly and consider attending a grant proposal workshop for more guidance. Visit the SBCUSD Office of Community Engagement website for workshop details and registration. Eligibility: Only District Employee may serve as the official applicant for a SBCUSD Board Innovation Grant. Community partners (i.e. nonprofit organizations) may receive funding through this program, but must work with a District Employee to apply. All awards will be funded through an existing District School Site or Department budget and will therefore require the approval of the School Site Leader or Department Director in order to be accepted. Expenditures from grants must follow district purchasing policies and procedures. Award Amount: Board Innovation Grants may be awarded in amounts up to a maximum 200,000. Anticipated awards: Level 1: Under 10,000 (20 awards) Level 2: 10,000 to 50,000 (10 awards) Level 3: 50,000 to 100,000 (5 awards) Level 4: Over 100,000 (2 awards) Application Process Applications must be submitted online through the official Google Forms. Project Registration Deadline: February 1, 2018 Application A link to the Innovation Grant Application will be sent to each applicant following their project registration. The application form includes seven (7) sections. Responses must conform to character limits inclusive of spaces.
