8 ADDITIONAL FUNDING AND INFORMATION RESOURCES Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users: DuPage County Stormwater Ordinance Regulatory_Services/1420/ Transportation and Accessibility Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Grants The ITEP provides funding for community based projects that expand travel choices and enhance the transportation experience by improving the cultural, historic, aesthetic and environmental aspects of our transportation infrastructure. The ITEP is designed to promote and develop alternative transportation options, including bike and pedestrian travel, along with streetscape beautification. The federal funds are awarded competitively, and projects must be related to surface transportation. Eligible applicants include all entities that were eligible to apply for TAP funds. Any local or state government with taxing authority is eligible to apply. In addition, the FAST Act allows nonprofit entities responsible for the administration of local transportation safety programs to apply. Local matching funds are required Green Streets Context Sensitive Solutions Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) Grant: This is a federally funded program that is part of the surface transportation improvements designed to improve air quality and to mitigate congestion. Requests are submitted through the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). Eligible projects include pedestrian and bicycle facility projects, as well as transit improvements and traffic flow projects. and air_quality/cmaq/ The Surface Transportation Program (STP) Safe Routes to Schools IDNR Bicycle Path Program Helps with the acquisition, construction and rehabilitation of public, non-motorized bicycle paths and directly related support facilities. IDNR Recreational Trails Program Provides up to 80% funding assistance for acquisition, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of motorized and non-motorized recreation trails. htm. DuPage County Bikeways and Trails Illinois Trails Grant Program Northeastern Illinois Regional Greenways and Trails Plan Open Space, Natural and Water Resources Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD), Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), and Park and Recreational Facility Construction (PARC) The OSLAD and LWCF programs assist local government agencies in the acquisition and development of land for public parks and open space.
