2 Initiatives in the region: Partnership on Transparency in the Paris Agreement Launched by South Africa, South Korea and Germany in 2010 open informal country network GIZ supports the secretariat of the Partnership Objective: promotes practical exchange and political dialogue between countries on enhanced climate transparency in five regional groups (three operating in West Africa: Cluster Francophone, Cluster Lusophone and African Reg. 3 Initiatives in the region: Information Matters Launched in 2013 under the BMUB IKI with Ghana (expired June 2017) among the partner countries GIZ implements the project commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) Objective: strengthen in-country capacities for enhanced climate reporting under the UNFCCC with special focus on the preparation of BURs and the development and implementation of sustainable systems for MRV More info: Page 4
4 Initiatives in the region: NDC Cluster Established in 2016 by the German Environment Ministry (BMUB) in the framework of its International Climate Initiative (IKI) Objective: support developing countries in a timely and comprehensive manner with the implementation of their NDCs. Currently 10 organizations support 27 partner countries (including Ghana and Morocco) with total funding volume of 56 million euros. The programme is an important part of BMUB's contribution to the global NDC Partnership. GIZ supports the Cluster through the Support Project for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement (SPA) More info: Page 5
