16 Government Response The Govt accepted in full or in part 81 of the 89 Heseltine recommendations. A decentralised approach that empowers LEPs to drive forward growth in their areas. Govt has created a single local growth fund. LEPs to create new multi-year plans for growth. Streamline the management of EU funds aligned with LEP plans. Strengthening the link between government and business, and business and education.

Position yourself with a business facing offer significant investor, employer, developer, solutions - your contribution for each LEP area? Give practical examples of outcomes e.g. job creation and growth Tailor your CV what will you bring to the table? your USP? your specific added value offer? what other roles are relevant? Put yourself about and put in the hours network attend related events meet key LEP people show support and encouragement Volunteer and offer knowledge/resources/involvement

31 How to get involved Business and LA offer position yourself and your offer so acceptable to both camps And finally LEP s purpose is creating conditions and taking actions to support jobs and growth so be crystal clear how your housing related engagement offer directly supports LEP achievement of these objectives

32 What has been achieved Raised awareness of the housing crisis and the impact on economic growth, job creation Raised awareness of the housing offer - direct house building activity and the wider economic impact Support deeper understanding of private sector/rp/la issues and solutions e.g. business models, Housing Workshops, Planning Toolkit Support and advocacy for more strategic approach e.g. Bristol Property Board (strategic land asset management) Supporting debate around housing numbers political sensitivity needed here - consensus on scale of issue/crisis
